Chapter 3 Blood Sacrifice

1166 Words
Su Xiaoye's gaze suddenly sharpened. He stamped his feet against the dungeon walls and flipped backwards, landing behind the black-robed figure. "What..." The black-robed figure hadn't reacted yet, and Su Xiaoye wrapped his arm around the iron chain, wrapping it around the black-robed figure's neck. "No! Please don't..." The black-robed figure immediately grabbed the chain around his neck with both hands, his dead fish eyes bulging out as he struggled desperately. "Did you spare the lives of those you strangled when they begged for mercy?" Su Xiaoye sneered and suddenly applied force with his palm, causing his sleeves to bulge out with muscle. With a tremendous force, the chain was deeply embedded in the flesh of the black-robed figure's neck, strangling him to death! Su Xiaoye let go, and the body of the black-robed figure fell to the ground like a puppet losing its strength. Su Xiaoye quickly finished off the other two or three black-robed figures who had fallen to the ground to ensure they were dead. In the blink of an eye, Su Xiaoye had single-handedly killed the tour guide and four other black-robed figures! There were still other black-robed figures chasing after the fleeing tourists from the tour group. In the glow of the still-burning kerosene lamp, one could see that the entire chamber of instruments of punishment was strewn with corpses. One after another, the corpses exhibited extremely gruesome deaths. Blood flowed everywhere, contrasting with the flames. Su Xiaoye glanced around and saw that there were still two survivors who were alive. One was the brave American, Peter. The other was a girl named Blannie with freckles on her face. "Dead... Dead people..." "Murder... You killed people..." "Help... Help me..." Peter was completely terrified. His eyes were lifeless and gray. His pants were already wet and dripping between his legs. Apparently, he was so scared that he had a nervous breakdown. Although Blannie's face was pale with fear, she didn't wet her pants. Su Xiaoye glanced at Blannie and Peter without acknowledging them, bent down, and removed the masks of the black-robed figures to reveal their true faces. "This one is the driver from the town." "I've seen this person in the town before." "He's the barber in the town." "The chef from the hotel?" After checking, Su Xiaoye shook his head. It seems that these strange black-robed figures in the Thorn Castle were all residents of the town at the foot of the mountain. "It's no wonder that when we arrived in the morning, it felt like there were fewer people in the town. Turns out they were all hiding here." "Who are these people? Murderous ghosts? A town full of murderous ghosts?" "That doesn't seem to be the case. They're more like a cult group." "Oh, that tour guide mentioned blood sacrifice. Could it be that these people's preparation to s*******r us tourists is for a blood sacrifice?" Su Xiaoye shook his head and walked out of the dungeon. There were too many doubts. Thorn Castle, vampires, blood sacrifice, black-robed town residents... Su Xiaoye roughly pieced together the information in his mind. "Dad, did you find something?" "Could your disappearance have something to do with this place? Did you meet your end here?" "No, it's impossible! With the skills of these residents, they could never be Dad's opponent." Su Xiaoye immediately dismissed the speculation that his father had met his end here. He knew his father better than anyone else. Although his father was ostensibly an archaeologist, his hidden true strength could defeat a special forces unit in a minute! "Alright, I'll search Thorn Castle first and see if Dad left any new clues." Su Xiaoye decided to explore Thorn Castle first. As for the terrifying and mysterious cult group in the town, Su Xiaoye didn't put it on his mind. The dungeon was dark and terrifying, with screams echoing in the corridors. On the uneven ground, there was a bloody trail left by the man whose shoulder had been pierced by an iron hook. Su Xiaoye didn't turn on the flashlight on his phone, as it would only attract more black-robed figures to surround him. His night vision, honed through training, was quite strong. Even without the flashlight, he could make out most of the things in the dungeon. Silently, Su Xiaoye dispatched one black-robed monster after another in the corridor. The adult, muscular figures were killed easily by him, with a simple twist of their jaws between his hands. At the end of the corridor, it abruptly ended in a vertical hole. Even Su Xiaoye couldn't help but show a look of shock as he stood at the end of the corridor, peering down. One by one, thorn-covered "trees" grew up from the ground and burrowed into the soil. "No wonder the tour guide said that the thorns in the entire castle came from the dungeon. It's really true," Su Xiaoye thought with astonishment. As he looked more closely, his pupils suddenly narrowed, and a look of horror appeared on his face. In the center of the cylindrical hole, the thorn-covered tree had branches hanging with corpses. These corpses were all naked, incredibly shriveled, and as dry as wrinkled oranges. Their skin clung tightly to their bones, as if all their blood had been drained. On the trunk of the thorn-covered tree, a gray-skinned Westerner with a pale complexion and exceptional beauty was wrapped. Sharp thorns pierced his skin, but he seemed unaware of it, with a peaceful expression as if he were deeply asleep. Around the thorn-covered giant tree, a group of black-robed monsters chanted incomprehensible and unfamiliar words while dancing and gesturing. Su Xiaoye guessed that those black-robed monsters were probably the townspeople. He saw the man whose shoulder had been pierced by an iron hook earlier being brutally dismembered and his blood poured onto the roots of the thorn tree. The blood didn't flow out but was all absorbed into the soil, presumably by the demonic thorn tree. The leader of the black-robed monsters chanted a sentence. The thorn tree rustled and lowered a branch covered with sharp thorns. One of the black-robed monsters immediately stepped forward and carefully hung the remaining limbs and fragments on the thorny branch. The branch, satisfied, slowly withdrew. "Is this a blood sacrifice?!" Su Xiaoye's heart skipped a beat, and he immediately held his breath. The eerie and terrifying blood sacrifice shocked even Su Xiaoye. When Su Xiaoye was young, he had heard many strange and terrifying stories from his father. But seeing it with his own eyes was an entirely different matter. The leader of the black-robed monsters asked in a hoarse and ancient voice, "Why haven't the rest of the sacrificial offerings arrived yet?" "I don't know. They should have arrived by now," replied another. "You go and check quickly, or the Thorn Lord will be angry!" shouted the leader of the black-robed monsters. Thinking of the consequences of angering the Thorn Lord, the black-robed monster shuddered.
