Episode 4: Going on a Date

1256 Words
Gripping tightly on a piece of paper her best friend handed her minutes ago, Rosalie walks out gracefully from a black BMW M1. The night breeze lightly brushes her bareback. She's only wearing a beautiful red backless dress wrapping her body. The expensive clothing hugs her stunning body curves perfectly. Rosalie paired her dress with a black Chanel clutch bag and completed her look with the latest red Louis Vuitton killer high heels. The moment she entered the luxurious restaurant, Rosalie heaved a deep sigh; she knew her appearance would draw a lot of attention. She stopped in her tracks and hesitated to walk any further. As she contemplates her life choice, a handsome waiter welcomes her, grinning from ear to ear. "Do you have a reservation, miss?" He asked, sneakily looking at her beautiful face down to her slender legs.  You p*****t! How rude of you! She wanted to scream right in front of the waiter’s face. However, she keeps her cool because she doesn’t want any more attention if there will be a commotion as a consequence of her action. Rosalie thought before silently giving her reservation card. "This way, miss." Rosalie followed the waiter, leaving a gap between them. She noticed several pairs of eyes looking intently at her, mostly men. She suddenly feels conscious and walks a little faster. Fortunately, the reserved seats are far from the other customers and are almost secluded. "Here you go, miss. Do you need anything?" The waiter asked, still keeping the same smile. "Just a glass of water, please. Thank you." Rosalie replied. Placing her expensive clutch bag on top of the table, she sat down comfortably. It's a limited edition bag from a luxury brand that she can't even afford. How could she just place it anywhere? "Here's your water, miss." The waiter said, glancing at Rosalie's face before turning around without even hearing her thanks.  "What a weird waiter." Rosalie silently whispers as she looks at the waiter's back moving away. Her phone was ringing nonstop. She immediately picked it up without looking at who the caller was. Anna was already talking in a fast, high-pitched voice before she could say a word. Making Rosalie surprised. Moving away from her phone from her ear. "You can do it, Rosy! I'm very sorry. I am waiting for a successful result. Way to go!"  "Wait a minute, Anna Terry Louis!" Lucy shouted. But the call had already ended. She couldn't believe it. Her friend just hung up on her. Rosalie was very frustrated that she wanted to bang her head on the table. She wanted to get out of this stupid challenge that her ever-so-supportive best friend let her do. Nervousness started to visit her every system.  This mess all started because of her stupid big mouth, so technically it is also her fault. When she came home from that place early in the morning, she kept pacing back and forth in her living room. She was very frustrated and wanted someone to talk with. Rosalie kept biting her fingernails. She really needed someone to listen and comfort her right now. All the pent-up anger and helplessness are starting to make her insane. Her best friend's name suddenly popped into her mind. “Oh yes, Anna! she shouted. Anna has been a good friend to her. In fact, she’s like a sister to her, a big sister. She always listens to her complaints about her parents, her life, and even gives advice that makes sense. So, yeah, she’s the perfect person to reach out to. “Oh, I haven’t taken a bath yet. I need to wash up first.” Rosalie hurriedly walked in the direction of her bathroom. As soon as she looked in the mirror, she blurted out “I look like a broken-hearted fool.” And she sighed. After a couple of minutes of refreshing herself, Rosalie was now ready to head out. And just as she planned to go to her best friend’s house. She picked up a jacket and her keys. Someone knocked on the door. She stopped in her tracks and thought for a while as if she was expecting a visitor. No one comes to mind, as she rarely has a visitor coming over to her place. “Who’s there?” Rosalie dropped her jacket as well as the keys she was holding. She headed toward the door and opened it with her two eyebrows raised and a questioning face. Her face suddenly changed to a surprised and relieved one as soon as she saw the person behind her door. And that someone turned out to be Anna, her ever gorgeous best friend. She came with a dozen cans of beer with her. “Anna, you came!” She hugged her tightly with teary eyes. “What’s wrong with you, Rosy? I came to check on you whether you are still alive or not. You are not picking up my calls last night. Where have you been? I called Nathan but he said you’re not with him.” “I was just preparing to head to your place but you’re the one who came first.” Rosalie stopped hugging Anna and stared at her and pouted. “You really asked that cheater and bastard! He is the reason for all the mess I’ve been through last night. I really want to punch him in the face.” Rosalie whined as she threw a punch in the air. “Why? What happened yesterday? Isn’t it Nathan’s birthday? I suppose you celebrated it with him and enjoyed a nice meal. And where were you last night when I couldn’t reach you? So what really happened, Rosy? Tell me everything right now.” Anna said with a puzzled look on her face. “It’s a long story. Let’s head in first, okay?” They sat in the living room facing each other. Anna’s face was full of anticipation and curiosity while Rosalie took a deep breath, looking at her best friend’s face. “Okay, since I really wanted someone to talk with right now to vent my anger and frustration, listen carefully, Anna. Nathan is a scumbag of a cheater!” Anna raised an eyebrow. “What was that, Rosy? Tell me in detail. And everything!” “Okay, okay, calm down, will you? So, as you mentioned earlier, it was Nathan’s birthday yesterday and I was a fool who was very excited to celebrate it with him. I even planned a surprise party for him but I’m the one who was surprised instead.” Rosalie said, rolling her eyes. Anna was all ears to Rosalie’s story.  She dropped the bomb as soon as they started drinking. She told her what happened from the moment she saw him and knew her ex had cheated on her and what kind of an asshole he was.  And that night they spent it drinking and cursing her ex-boyfriend. Rosalie also mentioned what happened last night to the man he doesn’t know. “Oh my god, Rosy. You did it. Is he handsome with a toned muscled body? How does it feel? Tell me more, Rosy. Ahhhhh. Seeing her best friend raising her voice in a high-pitched sound like a fangirl, Rosalie rolled her eyes. “I don’t know much about what happened that night. I was pretty drunk. I don’t even know his face. I just woke up with, you know, a sore body. ALONE in that room.” Rosalie said, emphasizing the word alone.
