30 ANOTHER WAY

"Beau I haven't got any information about Mary, I'm still sleeping with the enemy". Lionel who had no relevant data on Corrine protested to unmask the intentions behind that local. "Cheetah hasn’t been easy for me to obtain relevant data either, I really want to help you with this but I don't know anything". Beau said he didn't have much information. "I’ll try to continue investigating, something has to give me clues". Continued Lionel. That night, Lionel invited Corrine to have a drink at the bar where he had showcased his wine mixes in order to have a conversation and thus get some truth from the girl. "It's good to come back". Said Corrine. "I know, sometimes you have to disconnect from so many occupations or not Mary?". "Yes, you need to have a good time". "We have been living together for some time and you have not explained well what you do Mary?". Lionel asked. "I work from home making some drawings and plans". "I've never seen you draw anything like that". Lionel replied incredulously. "I have everything in my room, Larson you have never entered there". Corrine answered trying to hold her alibi. "Will you show me your work someday?". Lionel insisted. "At the moment I don't have any pending work, but when they ask me for something, I'll show you". Said Corrine. Lionel didn’t find this story convincing at all, so he was going to continue the questioning for a while longer to see if he could get something valuable: "And who do you work for Mary?". "For all kinds of infrastructure and construction companies". Corrine said very seriously. "Interesting, I've never told you, but you don't look like you’re working on things like that. Said Lionel, trying to exasperate Corrine. "The vocation has no molds". "How poetic". "Larson, I don't really know where you want to go with all this interrogation, the truth is that I didn't come to that, I'm not a child to have to give explanations and least of all to you who are almost unknown, I think I'd better go". Corrine said enraged, using this tactic to keep Lionel from continuing the awkward interrogation. "Wait Mary don't leave, I won't continue the interrogation, we came to have fun and we will do that". Lionel said giving up because with that he would get nowhere. "You better be Larson, I don't want one more question about my life". Said Corrine satisfied with what she had accomplished. The entire time Corrine and Lionel had a lot of fun using their respective alibis in front of any questions from the other, to tell the truth, neither of them seemed to bother with each other's presence, deep down they both liked each other and it seemed impossible to believe all the negative things they thought they knew about each other, despite this they knew that they had to continue with their respective missions, otherwise the consequences would be fatal. One day Lionel took advantage of the fact that he was no longer so busy and decided to go to the town to find out if someone knew or distinguished Mary, in a town many people usually distinguish themselves, so he decided to go to a supermarket that was quite crowded, to hide a little he took some fruits, went to pay at the cash register and made sure that whoever was attending him was an old lady because she could know something about the girl. "Good afternoon, madam. I'm new to town". "Good afternoon, great, welcome". Said the lady without even looking at Lionel. “I was wondering if you could help me with information”. Said Lionel kindly. "Sir, in the town park there is a tourist office". The old woman replied dryly. "I don't want to know the location of any tourist site, I just want it to tell me if you know a girl". Lionel replied. "Show me but quickly, I must serve more clients". Said the woman. "It's her". Lionel took out his cell phone and showed the lady a photograph of Corrine that he had managed to obtain while she was careless. "I don't know her; I've never seen her around here". Said the old woman. "Now if you'll excuse me, there are more people in line waiting to pay". Sentenced the lady, while she called the next person in line. Lionel left the supermarket disappointed because he didn’t believe the old woman very much since she didn’t even intend to help him, she was too focused on her work. He didn’t want to return to the Villa soon, because seeing Corrine only made him angrier, the girl was too nice and funny and he didn’t know if those attitudes were real, so he went to the park and sat in one of the chairs there to think what other options Lionel might have. He sat in the same place for more than two hours and still couldn’t find answers to his multiple doubts, he was so concentrated that he didn’t notice when a boy came to his side, he only noticed his presence when the boy talked to him: "You're not from around, here right?". asked the young man. "No". Lionel replied dryly, not wanting to establish social relations with anyone at the time. "Where you come from?". The boy continued. "You shouldn't talk to strangers boy, you better go your way". Lionel said. "You seem a little excited, can I help you with something?". The boy said ignoring Lionel's comment. "No one can help me now". "Maybe I can do it, I still haven't told you who I’m". "Ah yes, who are you?". Lionel said laughing. "Have you heard of the Click gang?". The boy said proudly. "I've never heard of that gang before". “Because you aren’t from here, we have control of an entire area of this town and we know each of the inhabitants here. Right now, my mission is to find out who you are, I just want to make things easier for you by asking you directly”. Lionel found the fact the boy was giving him quite interesting. If he really knew everyone in town, he might know something about Mary. "Can you tell me who this girl is?". Lionel asked hopefully and showing the boy Corrine's photograph. "No brother, I can't give that information to you, that information is only known by our boss". replied the boy. "But did you say a while ago that you could help me?". “But by telling you the location of a tourist site or something, not with that information. Besides what do you want with that girl?”. The boy asked somewhat suspiciously and intrigued. "She's just a girl I like, I saw her in a bar and I couldn't speak to her". Lionel said. "Sorry friend, that information is only known to my boss, if I tell you something, they would kill me". The boy replied dryly. "Tell me rather what is your name?". "I'm Larson, I only came to spend a season here" said Lionel. "I'm really interested in the girl, could you tell me who your boss is? I'll ask him for the information myself". "You’re a very risky man, my boss doesn't like strangers". Replied the boy. "I'm really interested in the girl; I wouldn't want to leave town without even meeting her". Lionel continued with his story, trying to get the boy to give him information about his boss. "I want to help you brother, but I cannot take you directly to the boss, I’d be the one to pay the consequences". “Somehow you can help me, at least tell me where he usually is, nobody will tell him that you gave me that information. You’re scattered throughout the town; I’ll make our meeting seem very casual”. Lionel said trying to convince the boy. "Okay, we tend to be every night in the nearby bars here, I can't tell you more detail". The boy said. Lionel had thought to go to the gangs, because if the information the boy had just given him was true, only they could know who Mary really was, that was the only possibility he had left to finally be able to obtain truthful information about his partner from Villa. "Thanks friend, you just helped a man in love". “Good luck with your goal friend”. Lionel only had to think about the way he was going to approach the gangs without them seeing him as a real threat, so he decided to go to the Villa to think for a while about his new plan. He hoped that it would bear a fruit because he was at a crossroads and increasingly saw the possibility of finding his sister Elizabeth and that situation deeply saddened him.
