THE HUNT. "I need y'all to listen up now. Who else is missing? Go call the others. I want everyone assembled here now. A big task awaits us." Raymond roared at the male wolves while they awaited the others. "Can you tell us what's going on here? Are we preparing to wage another war against our opposition pack? Speak, my BETA. We are so curious to know why you called us," one of them spoke on behalf of everyone. "I need y'all to be patient. I do not have the luxury of patience to entertain your questions. Soon, you'll understand why I called y'all out here when the others arrived," Raymond addressed the 6 male wolves. "You sent for us BETA. What's the problem? Is the Alpha in danger?" Aurelius asked as he pants heavily like someone being chased by wild animals," "I'm happy that y'all decided to accept my invitation. You're not far from the truth Angelo. The Alpha needs our help right now. But we can restore the joy to his face again," Raymond finally broke the silence that stunned everyone. "And what could be done?" Everyone exclaimed in unison as they widened their mouths in a fly-catching position. It took them a few minutes to finally realize that. "Amanda has just absconded with the Alpha's unborn child. She just exposed herself to danger. What if she gets attacked by angry wolves? Perhaps, she might get kidn*pped by travelers or slave traders. We need to go find her now. She must be brought home alive. Is that understood?" He announced. "Yes, we need to," they all screamed. The shock on everyone's face could tell how serious the situation was. The last time Raymond assembled them like that, they were planning to invade another pack for a war in which they emerged victorious. "Awesome! That's what I'm talking about. Now, let's go immediately," Ray led the way as they marched into the woods in full squad. "I'll personally kill Raymond if he fails to come back without her. I can't believe I was this close to breaking the curse. Argh! What if she isn't found? No. I would never hoard such nonsense imagination." The Alpha vowed. The pain of not finding Amanda and dying before 40 as stated by the moon goddess is beginning to scare him. At this juncture, he may be forced to believe the moon goddess is becoming silent over his predicament. "My Alpha, your food is ready now. Should I get it for you?" One of the maids interrupted his thoughts. "Don't be stupid. I didn't recall asking you to serve my food. Can you just let me be? Get away from my presence this moment before I do something stupid," he yelled at the maid. "But.." "Just go. I don't need any food. Why are you so daft? I don't want anything. I just want to be left alone. I want y'all out of this place this minute," he unleashed his inner werewolf aggression at the domestic staff around him to bend his head in disappointment. He just wanted to be left alone. __________ "Raymond, are you sure she can be found? We've combed the entire woods but she isn't found yet," Roman questioned. He was beginning to lose hope in the search for Amanda. They never believed it would turn out this difficult. Since she was heavily pregnant, they believed finding her was going to be an easy ride. But she proved them wrong. After an hour of immense searching, most of the male wolves have lost hope of ever finding her. "Y'all are lazy. What if this was a battlefield? Do I need to remind y'all that she's heavily pregnant?" Raymond lashed them. There's no way she could have gone far. We need to keep moving forward until she's found. I don't care how long it takes us to find her. Remember what the Alpha said about coming back without Amanda? I don't wish to die now. My instincts tell me she might be somewhere around here. I can smell her scent," Ray raised his head to perceive the atmosphere. Suddenly, his eyes turned dark and scary and made everyone freaked out. He looked behind him to find a pregnant girl who was suspected to be Amanda. "That's her over there. Go get her before she escapes. Don't let her run away," he ordered his men. Without hesitation, they went after the lady who wouldn't stop running. She doesn't understand why they kept chasing her. They chased her until she stepped on a stone and fell to the ground. "Who are you? Please let me go, don't kill me." She turned around to beg them. That was the moment they realized it was the wrong target. "Damn! What a striking resemblance. We apologize for the inconvenience. There must be a mix-up somewhere," Aurelius apologized to the lady. "Damn, your apology. Did you realize what just happened? I nearly lost my pregnancy due to your negligence. How do you explain that? I'm not allowing y'all leave here without paying for the damages." She threatened them and grabbed Aurelius' shirt. "Ma'am, please let go of me. I just apologized. Is that enough already?" Aurelius frowned. "Says who? Are you paying me off or do you want me to scream and alert the villagers? I'm pretty sure they'll be willing to listen to a heavily pregnant lady that you guys tried to kidnap for rituals," she hissed. Raymond stood from afar to await Amanda's capture. He was already beaming with smiles that she was finally captured. It's been 20 minutes and his men hadn't shown up yet with Amanda. "What could be keeping them? She ought to be brought here already. I don't understand how difficult it is to capture a pregnant teenage girl." He thought. After minutes of waiting, he got tired and decided to go see what was happening. To his greatest shock, he saw a mystery pregnant lady gripping Aurelius' shirt. "What the heck is happening here? Where's She? And why is this lady gripping your shirt?" Raymond quizzed. He can't seem to understand what was happening. "We thought she was Amanda. She turned out to be a different person. Now she's requesting a payoff before she would let go. We've been this way for minutes now. Can you please talk to her?" Rolando implored. "Ma'am, what's the matter? You weren't our target. Let go of him. We've got a more important situation ahead of us. We wouldn't want any delay from you at this moment," Raymond stepped in as the mediator. "Then be prepared an answer to my villagers who sent you to kidnap a pregnant woman because there's no way I'm letting go of him unless he pays me off," she insisted. " For what exactly? We don't remember buying anything from you. This has got to be the biggest joke ever. What makes you think it's right? Woman, let us go. I don't want to do something I'll regret later. Leave while you still can," or we will kill you here and bury you before the arrival of your villagers, Raymond displayed a dagger to threaten her "See this? It's not a toy. I'll slit your throat open with it and walk away from your corpse. Look around you, nobody's watching. You'd be long dead even before anyone finds out. You're not the person we seek. Alpha Donaldson is sent to go find his missing Luna named Amanda. I want to believe your name isn't Amanda, is it?" "Of course, not. I'm sorry for my behavior. They were mere pregnancy exhibits. I wish you success in your quest," she walked away as though nothing happened. "How did you do it? I tried all tricks to discard that lady but none worked," Aurelius laughed. "You're the worst thing that ever happened to our pack. Just pray we find Amanda before nightfall. It's getting dark already. Let's proceed with our search. I'm not giving up soon," Raymond s*****d his head as they continued their search. ________ It's 7:30 already and she still hasn't been found yet. Donald is becoming restless about the predicament. Glancing at the calendar on his wall, he could confirm his 40th birthday was fast approaching. He is refusing to talk to anyone or eat something. Food has become his greatest enemy at this juncture. I've been condemned to death for a curse I know nothing about. My future lies in the hands of a teenage girl for the curse to be averted. "Where did the moon goddess expect me to find her? "Who's at home?" A maid stood in front of his doorstep, knowing Donaldson didn't want to see anyone. "Who's that? I thought I clearly stated I didn't want to see anyone. Who the hell is that?" Donaldson smashed a glass against the wall in rage. "I'm sorry, my Alpha. The moon guardian is at the Pack. She demands to see you immediately," the maid stated in a frightening voice. "The moon guardian?" He exclaimed in shock. She was the last person he expected to see at this moment. A while ago, the moon guardian vowed never to step foot inside the pack anymore until the Alpha had got sensitive information about the whereabouts of Amanda. "Go tell the moon guardian I'll be there shortly," he finally answered after a prolonged silence. He wasn't sure what the moon guardian wanted but whatever it was, he was quite optimistic it wouldn't worsen his situation. Quietly, he dashed off his bed and stepped outside to Arindia frowning at his Pack. He couldn't move further. He just stood from afar to welcome the moon guardian. "Of what do I owe this visit? You were the last person I expected to see." He stuttered. "Then I might as well go back to the cave if I'm not welcomed here," she attempted to walk away when he stopped her. "Please, don't. I take back my words. I am just a bit surprised to see you show up here after the embarrassment I caused previously," he apologized in a faint tone. He's slowly becoming a shadow of himself with no strength. "I am here for a different purpose. I don't care about shitty mortals. The moon goddess is upset at you for jeopardizing her efforts to save your clan. You're in deep trouble right now." Aliyah divulged. "Trouble? Again? Can I know my offense? I'm fed up with everything happening around me." He wailed like a toddler. The last time he shed was when he lost his father. The once ruthless Alpha is slowly becoming a weakling and a shadow of himself. "Yes, my Alpha. You brought this problem upon yourself. You're the reason Amanda eloped with the pregnancy. Now you must pay dearly for it," She said. "But how? I can't seem to recall anything. I never had a fallout with Amanda before her escape." Donaldson replied in confusion. "The goddess doesn't lie. Selene is the epitome of truth and honesty. What did you discuss with Raymond, your BETA? Your discussion with him made her escape. Take your mind to the last discussion you had with him," she charged him. "My BETA? Oh, now I recall," Donaldson reminisced about the last discussion he had with his BETA where he revealed the reason he desperately wanted Amanda to get married. "Now I get it. She was pissed off and betrayed after discovering that I tricked her. She found out about my death curse. Was that enough reason to have eloped with my pregnancy? She could have stayed back." He defended his actions. "That wasn't the only reason. Don't be so stupid, Donald. Have you suddenly lost your sense of reasoning? Would you have stayed back if you were in her s ituation? Take responsibility for your actions and stop acting like a dummy," Amanda must be found for the curse to be averted!
