Encounter II

''Mate'' he heard the voice again. This time the voice sounded more demanding.

“What?'' he said, not knowing who he was talking to him.

''Mate is bleeding.'' the voice asserted.

''OMG, she's bleeding.'' the girl's mother shrieked in panic, which made Darion direct his vigilance on them again.

''Here, get on my back let's get you to a hospital'' her father hauled her on his back, and they made their way down the mountain.

"Couldn't you have just carried her in your arms” Darion heard the woman grumble since he pursued them from behind a reasonable distance. He didn't know why he was following them, it was like he was being propelled forward by some kind of force.

''Don't lose mate!'' the voice ordered which made Darion furrow his forehead, trying to process what was happening to him. They walked further till they got to a car and placed all their segments in it. The girl's dad crouched her at the edge of the vehicle and her mother entered the car.

''You are gonna be fine okay'' the little girl's dad assured her as he stroked her hair. Seconds later the mom came out with a first aid box and squatted next to the now wailing girl.

Meanwhile, Darion and his mysterious inner creature were still watching them from a distance.

''Let's go closer to our mate'' the voice spoke again. Darion took the first step forward and realized he didn't even know who he was taking orders from.

''Wait, why should I do what you tell me when I don't even know who you are." He asserted, after speculating for a while.

''Oh please'' the voice said and this made Darion get distracted. What he hated the most was someone as cocky as him.

''Are you telling me you don't know about your wolf inside of you? What are you, four?'' this angered Darion more, but he wanted to know what the mysterious voice was driving at.

''What are you talking about?''

''I would tell you everything you need to know, deadhead, but we have got other pressing matters to attend to. Go after mate before we lost them.'' Before Darion could even lift his head, they heard the roar of the car engine and the car sped away.

''I can't believe I am stuck with someone like you forever'' the mysterious voice exclaimed.

''What do you mean by, you are stuck with someone like me forever?''. This made the voice groan and there it was silent.

''Hello''

''Hello,'' Darion called out twice. The voice was gone.

He gritted his teeth, he was being ignored, and he hated it.

''Mate'' he exclaimed.

''Where?'' the voice cried out. This made Darion laugh hard. Something he hasn't done in ages.

''So you were ignoring me'' he said in between laughter.

''That wasn't funny'' the voice spat, angry for being deceived.

''Are you gonna tell me not?''

''Not!''

''Okay, let's make a deal. I promise to find your mate or whatever it is you called her. In exchange, you will tell me everything I need to know'' he didn't get any response.

''Is that a deal'' he shrugged his shoulders.

''Sure fine, whatever'' the voice said, making Darion shake his head. He headed back to the pack.

After finding all about werewolves and mates from his wolf, Dray. Darion had combed everywhere for him and his wolf's mate for years but she couldn't be found. It's like she was not in existence. He gave up but Dray never let him be. Constantly reminding him of her.

''Freeze! You villain'' Delvin's tiny cute voice startled Lyra. She scrunched her face at the batman costume he wore and the mask which covered from the bridge of his nose to his head.

''What is going on here'' Lyra asked.

''No talking you villain.'' Darvyn emerged from behind in a Spider-Man costume pointing a toy gun at her while trying not to giggle.

''Character play I see...'' she thought to herself and an evil grin slithered up her face.

''And I am Lucifer!!!'' she roared and made monstrous faces at them while raising her arms and her hands clawed out.

''AHH!!!'' they squealed and ran around in circles shrieking on top of their voices with her running right behind them. They were so cute when they squealed but got on her nerves periodically.

''Don't scare them like that'' their mom called out while entering the dining room with breakfast in her hand.

“They started it.” Lyra cackled, halting her prank on the twins.

“What are you, five?” Her mom ridiculed.

''I'm sorry mom, I have to skip breakfast'' she let out with a sorry look on her face while looking down at the toasts and scrambled eggs on the table.

''Wait, what? You know I don't like you skipping breakfast. And besides, where are you going to? It's Saturday and a bit too timely to go out''

''I know mom, but Elda and I have something important and I promised her I would be early'' she said and grabbed the trenchcoat off the hook near the doors and pulled it over, buttoning it, so her body was hidden.

Elda was Lyra's best friend, and they have been besties since middle school. She was the only one who didn't speculate Lyra was a spoiled rich brat who had everything, looks, well-off parents and everything the daughter of a wealthy family had. Even though they don't see much of each other since Elda got herself a boyfriend, they still kept in touch when they had time.

''I'm off, I love you'' Lyra said, letting herself out of the door.

“Ughh, I love you too''. Her mom grumbled after her.

''Good morning'' Fabien, her bodyguard/driver, greeted her with his charming smile. He had been her driver since she was like five. Her parents were super-rich.

She got everything she wanted, but a butler was definitely not one of them. She was so little and that didn't leave her with a choice as to whether to want a butler or not. But now, She was really glad she wasn't given a choice when she was younger.

Fabien was more of a friend than a butler to her. He listens to every problem and whining of hers. She even developed a crush on him when she was fifteen and got over it when she became seventeen. She remembered how she and Elda would drool over him, and she chuckled at the thought.

''A brand-new day'' she cheerfully said.

''Where to?'' he asked when they were both seated in the car.

''Elda''

''Roger that''. The car roared to life and he zoomed out of the house into the streets.
