Then there was a click and the image of a woman appeared on the screen:
“Hello, Craig,” the image said, “how lovely to see and talk to you again. Isn’t technology wonderful? Is that Lek by the side of you? She is beautiful. Hello, Lek. How are you, my dear?”
Lek looked at Craig as if she had just seen a ghost walk through the wal .
“Who is that?” she stammered.
“That is Rose, my mother. She is in Barry, but we can talk over the Internet. I did it as a surprise for you. Say 'Hello'.”
“Er, hello, Mum, how are you today?”
“I’m fine, thank you. It is cold here. What is the weather like over there in Thailand, Lek?”
She could not speak.
“Er, OK, Mum. Er, thank you. Bye, bye” she said and went out of view of the camcorder.
Craig and his mother chatted for about twenty minutes
