The Test of Time
Years passed, and life continued to unfold in ways both predictable and unexpected. As Mia grew, so did the challenges you faced. There were moments of joy—family road trips, birthday parties, and the simple comfort of movie nights on the couch. But there were also hardships.
One particularly tough year brought financial strain after Alex’s company downsized. You worked extra hours to make ends meet, while Alex struggled with the weight of feeling they’d let the family down.
“We’ll get through this,” l know everything will be fine, you reassured them one evening as they sat at the kitchen table, their head in their hands. Thinking of the near future.
Alex looked up, their eyes heavy with doubt. “What if we don’t?”
You knelt beside them, taking their hands in yours. “We’ve made it through worse. And I’m not going anywhere. We’ll figure this out a way out—together.”
