New Beginnings
A year after settling in, Alex surprised you one quiet evening with a question that had been on their mind.
“Have you ever thought about having kids?” they asked, their voice tentative.
You looked up from your book, the question catching you off guard. It wasn’t something you’d seriously considered, but the idea didn’t feel foreign.
“I’ve thought about it,” you admitted. “Have you?”
Alex nodded, their expression soft. “I think I want to. With you. I think we’d be good at it.”
The two of you talked late into the night, weighing your fears and hopes. Eventually, the decision felt right. Months later, after a mountain of paperwork and nervous anticipation, you welcomed Mia into your lives—a bright-eyed, curious toddler with a smile that could light up the room.
Parenthood changed everything. The once-quiet house became filled with laughter, cries, and the chaos of toys scattered across the floor. You and Alex took turns comforting Mia during sleepless nights, balancing work schedules, and navigating the overwhelming responsibility of raising a child.
It wasn’t easy, but every moment—every giggle, every milestone—reminded you why you chose this path together.
