Stepping out of the car, I took a deep breath, relishing the familiar sight of home. Derek followed closely behind me as we stood before my front door. With a swift movement, I entered the passcode, and the door creaked open, revealing the warmth waiting inside.
As I walked into the house, a burst of energy greeted me. Davin and Davina, my two little rays of sunshine, ran up to me with beaming smiles, their excitement evident in their eyes. Without missing a beat, they wrapped their tiny arms around me in a tight embrace, filling me with a rush of joy.
"Mama!" they exclaimed in unison, their voices filled with delight.
I hugged them back tightly, my heart overflowing with contentment. "I missed you both so much," I whispered, my voice filled with tenderness.
