I took a deep breath, trying to remain calm despite the rising tension in the room. Derek and I seemed to be arguing more frequently these days, and it bothered me deeply. We used to be able to talk things through and find a compromise, but lately, it felt like we were constantly at odds.
Derek glanced at me, his eyes filled with concern. "Where are you headed, Natalia?" he asked, his voice laced with a touch of frustration.
I met his gaze, knowing that my response would only add fuel to the fire. "We're going to the hospital, Derek. Davin and Davina need to have a check-up."
He scoffed, shaking his head in disbelief. "They don't need a check-up, Natalia. They're perfectly fine. You're overreacting."
