Sitting on the hospital bed, I watched Davina with a mix of surprise and warmth as she beamed at me with a wild smile plastered on her face.
The sight of her, alongside Natalia, by my side as I woke up from my coma filled me with a sense of contentment and gratitude that I couldn't quite put into words. Their presence, the first thing I saw on waking, brought a flicker of joy to the loneliness and sadness that had enveloped me during my healing process.
The fact that they were the first faces I was lucky enough to see when I woke up made me realize once again that this was my second chance to right my wrong and make amends in every aspect of my life.
