“You can't be serious, Lycia,” I muttered to myself, staring back at her with an obvious look of disbelief on my face.
“Does it sound like I'm joking, Ry? Did you really think I was going to let you marry someone like Natalia? She was a nobody, Rylan, and you were barely chosen to be the next Alpha. If I hadn't opened your eyes to how undeserving she was, you would have married someone who would have never been accepted by the pack,” she responded in her defense.
