“If I knew who you were and came running to you for help I think I would have asked for it a long time ago, also we had to introduce ourselves remember I would have already known who you were if that were the case. As far as how I got here I was getting my hair washed when I fell asleep, next thing I know I woke up here in a desert and walked to the forest where we met and well, here we are now. I don’t know any more than you do, why my dream brought my consciousness here is a mystery to us both buddy.” I say making the universal I have no clue arm shoulder gesture. Looking at Adrian, I can see the wheels turning in his mind, just can’t make out what he’s saying. Boy mind reading would be awesome.

“Well little ms. Rayven your leaving me with more questions than answers.” He says as he strokes his chin hair leaning his chin up against his hand like the thinker statue.

“I’m not little I’m grown I turn 18 in 2 days.” I say tired of the little girl thing, I have been running a very successful peaceful kingdom since I was 16 in very much so a grown woman. Hell I have the chance to meet my mate in 2 days.

“18 you say well happy early birthday little vixen. I’m 24 so your almost 6 years younger than me. Your still little to me kitten.” He says his husky voice just swirling around my body like music notes inside of a eardrum.

“Well thank-you for the wishes, and your not that much older than me so relax buddy. When Lycans turns 18 they get the chance to meet their fated mate. It’s who the goddess or in my case goddesses chose me to be with I was made specifically for them and them for me. My other half.” I say as I look at him, his smile falters a little bit he recovers. He almost looks a little sullen about it.

“Well whatever man they chose he sure is lucky guy. You are absolutely stunning, hilarious and you carry yourself as an intelligent woman as well. He better treasure you; they don’t make women like you anymore. Brains, beauty, personality and humor I kind of don’t want you to leave” He says throwing me a wink, I can feel the heat rising up to my cheeks. I don’t normally have this reaction to being flirted with. He’s such a flirt, a smooth one at that.

“Im sure your day those lines to all the ladies down here.” I say as I roll my eyes actually feeling irritated at the thought of him talking to other women. What am I doing I can’t get jealous over someone who does not belong to me my mate is out there somewhere.

“Calm down my little vixen, I don’t and have never used those lines on any woman before because what I just said is the truth. I do not get to know other women I just get with them. But you, I feel pulled towards you. My men wanted to go when they told me about a intruder at the forest but something told me to go by myself. When I get there what do I see? A goddess cooling her feet off in the pond we started talking and I sense there is more to you than meets the eye. I don’t know why I feel this pull but you have piqued my interest, Rayven. Being a god, we don’t get mates chosen by ourselves.” He says as he looks into my eyes, I can’t lie I do feel attraction towards him. He makes me feel comfortable like I’ve always known him even though we just met today.

“That is why I didn’t take you straight home I wanted to get to know you first seeing as though this might be the last time we see each other since you came here mysteriously. I needed to know more about Rayven and Ember the beautiful feisty little hybrid who has captivated my attention.” He says as he studies me like the moment I leave this realm he’s scared of having my image wiped clean from his memory. I can’t help but stare right back at him he is gorgeous.

As we stare into each others eyes a thought crosses my mind, mom. I clear my throat and all but jump from the couch, I don’t want to leave him for some strange reason, but I know I can not stay. I look at Adrian and a thought crossed my mind.

“How about you come to the Moonlight ball, it is in 2 days on my birthday. That way we can see each other again and you can bring me a birthday present,” I hold up 2 fingers to signify how many days. I managed to sneak the gift part it. He laughs at me.

“I can’t make it to the party as I have to watch over the spirits, but I can make a present for you now.” Adrian says with a crooked smile as hd stands up from the couch, now it’s my turn to have my curiosity piqued. He makes a gesture with his hand and a black and red phone materializes in his palm. My eyes practically fall out of my head, I’m used to seeing magic as I can do it exceptionally well but my powers are more so nature oriented so seeing a phone materialize in someone’s palm Is a phenomenal feat.

I reach for the phone my fingertips grazing his palm, he shivers like my touch is physically affecting him. We lock eyes again as he tells me about the phone.

“This is a phone that connects you directly with me here in the underworld only I can hear you, you won’t have to worry about any conversations slipping out because it’s directly linked to my essence. Call me if you ever need me Rayven don’t hesitate, I’ll always be here for you. Even though we just met your already very important to me I really can’t explain it. I just do hope we meet again one day my little Rayven.” He snaps his fingers and a portal pops up. I’m looking at my sleeping body I’m still getting my hair washed.

I look over at Adrian confused.

“I know I’ve been in here for hours now but I’m still getting my hair washed did time stop?” I ask him and he smiles at me, this man right here has to be what the goddess gave me eyes for his woman is one who all women would envy I tell you that much. He’s intelligent, he’s funny, did I forget to mention sexy. His personality shines just as bright as his smile, how he got stuck in the underworld is a question I will have to ask him just not right now.

“A minute over there is a hour down here. Time moves differently here in the underworld every millisecond is dragged out to ensure the efficient processing of souls.” He says as he walks up closer to me almost a breaths worth of space between us now. I’m starting up at his lips as he looks down at mine.

I inadvertently bite my bottom lip and look at the portal. One more question pops into my head.

“I thought you needed something of mine to be able to get me as close to my body as possible?” I ask , he just smiles and leans closer towards my face his lips just a short distance from mine. I know my cheeks are red I can feel the blush going all over my face at this point.

“I lied, I just needed an excuse to get to know you better my goddess. Now you get back to your life and don’t forget to call me whenever you want princess.” With that he leans in and presses a longing loving kiss on my forehead and lightly ushers me through the portal. I’m thrown back into my body I open my eyes to complete darkness.
