As I woke up I felt refreshed and ready to go. The troubles of yesterday has left my system like some of my slobber did trying to escape my mouth across my cheek in last nights sleep. I get up and slip my fuzzy slippers onto my feet before I head to the bathroom to get freshened up for the day. As I open the bathroom door steam floods out like I was just boiling in the water. And I might as well have been I need the water to be scalding hot in order for me to feel comfortable drop of water on my skin that wasn’t above my body temperature made me shiver like jumping straight into an ice tub.

I walk into my closet and grab a mini jean skirt and a moss green zip up halter sleeveless shirt. As I slip my feet into my green strap cork heels, I admire the princess and the front themed toenail polish I have on. A thought flicks across my mind, and I make my way to my dresser. My dad gave me at ankle bracelet when I turned 14, it was a birthday gift I haven’t gotten a chance to wear it yet as I was waiting on the perfect outfit at the time If I had known it would have been one of the very last things my father had the chance to get me it would have already been on my ankle, I’m ashamed I forgot about it for this long. I quickly slip it on my ankle and really admire it for what it is. It is like a regular pandoras bracelet except the band is pure gold with a cooper infused edge. The charms themselves were forged at Levecan by dwarfs specifically made for me. It has black lycan pendant representing my dad and a blue water drop sapphire representing my mother, it has a beautiful portrait landscape of the kingdom inside a clear glass ball, a fire shaped ruby pendant, a tree shaped emerald pendant, a small gold queen crown, and another queen crown expect this one his black at the bottom with red rubies on top. My father told me he was going to tell me what the second black crown meant when I was older, but sadly he never got the chance too. I placed the anklet on my ankle, and I feel a sudden power surge go through my body a familiar one that I haven’t felt since we last hugged him a year and a half ago.

Ember comes to the forefront of my mind.

“You felt that too” I ask her

“Yes, I feel dad in bracelet” she gruffs at me excitedly like a puppy when they see their favorite person.

“He must have infused some of his essence into this anklet, I’m sorry I forgot about this gift and have never put it on until now, we could have been felt his presence at the very least on our body as well as in our hearts. I was too spoiled trying to wait for the right outfit, I should have just enjoyed the gift as soon as he gave it to me. Maybe that day I would have been able to feel something was wrong with him and came to him to help faster.” I say with tears in my eyes feeling like the worst daughter to have ever been born, if I had known he would have been taken from me so soon I would have enjoyed the little things so much more.

Ember howls a mournful howl

“It’s okay human, we been very busy since dad left. Nothing you could do.” she says sincerely as she sends me calming waves. Being a queen has its perks as I can Alpha order someone, Royally Command an order, but Ember and I can also send out calming and reassuring aura to the people we command to let them know they are safe and being protected my kingdom has nothing to fear We will always protect them. My mother walks into my room looking chipper, Ember and I say in unison “All of them.”

“New Light my love we have things to do today, first we must go to the designers to look at your dress for the ball it is only away we have a lot of things to handle. We have to get your hair, nails, and toes done we need to get you shoes…” I cut her off before she gets lightheaded from the rambling.

“Yes, mom I’m ready to go I should go by the office first and see if there’s any business to take care of first.” As I finish my sentence, I turn to meet my mom's eyes and she looks furious to say the least, her little nose is all scrunched up.

“No Rayven, no work today Dex is taking care of all of that I have already told him this is a girly day you are going to get pampered, massaged, relaxed, and dolled up. Your birthday is 2 days away as well as the Winter Ball. I know you want to look your absolute best for your mate you know you can possibly meet them.” She scolds me like I am still a little kid, I just chuckle and toss my arm around her tiny shoulders.

“Okay mom no work you win, so where are we headed to first?” I ask curiosity getting the better of me.

She squeals in excitement “First we have nails and toes, then we have massages and facials and then hair appointments. Then to top the day off we have your first official dress and show fitting. Lyana Boudreaux, my childhood but girl best friend. flew all the way here from Paris to make sure the custom dress design you sent in last month is up to your standards and fits you like a glove. I want you to look like the queen that you are” she says as she tucks a piece of white curly hair behind my ear.

We hold hands interlocking our fingers as we walk to my baby Viper, we get in and buckle up as the car starts up, I move to turn the air on and grab the aux, I play my playlist and as music starts to play, I type in the address to the plaza we go to, to get away from the kingdom. Of course, behind us are the security detail we do not need that many but seeing my moms combat skills are not on my level as well as her magical abilities I like to make sure she is extra safe especially since it is just us now. So, I only have 4 black trucks worth it is 2 highly trained security officers in each black truck and each truck contains specialized weapons used to kill any supernatural we may come across as well as provisions, and medical equipment which they all are specialized in as well.
