Alessia's lips still tingled from the kiss she had shared with Dominic. She couldn't believe how natural it had felt, how right. As they stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, Alessia felt a sense of peace wash over her. For the first time in weeks, she felt like she could breathe again. Dominic's eyes locked onto hers, his gaze burning with intensity. "Alessia, I've wanted to do that for so long," he whispered, his voice low and husky. Alessia's heart skipped a beat. "I've wanted you to," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. Dominic's lips curved into a smile, and he leaned in to kiss her again. This time, the kiss was deeper, more passionate. As they kissed, Alessia felt like she was melting into Dominic's arms. She felt like she was home. But as they pulled away, gasping for air, Alessia's mind began to wander. What did this mean? Was she really ready to open herself up to love again? And what about Victor? And her mother's illness? Could she really trust Dominic to keep her safe? Just as Alessia was starting to feel a sense of hope, her phone buzzed with an incoming text. She hesitated for a moment before pulling away from Dominic and glancing at the screen. Her heart sank as she saw Victor's name flashing on the screen. "You think you're safe with him?" Victor's text read. "Think again." Alessia's eyes locked onto Dominic's, her mind racing with fear. "Victor," she whispered. Dominic's expression turned grim. "What does he want?" he asked, his voice low and urgent. Alessia shook her head. "I don't know," she replied, feeling a sense of dread wash over her. Without another word, Dominic pulled Alessia back into his arms, holding her close as he scanned their surroundings, his eyes searching for any sign of danger. But as they stood there, Alessia couldn't shake the feeling that Victor was closing in, that she was running out of time. Dominic's eyes never left Alessia's face as he spoke. "We need to get out of here, now," he said, his voice low and urgent. Alessia nodded, feeling a sense of fear wash over her. She knew that Victor was closing in, and she didn't know how much longer they could stay one step ahead. As they turned to leave, Dominic's phone buzzed with an incoming call. He hesitated for a moment before answering, his eyes locked onto Alessia's. "Alessia's father was involved in some shady dealings," Dominic said, his voice low and serious. "He was in deep with Victor, and together, they were involved in a massive money-laundering scheme." Alessia's eyes widened in shock. She had suspected that her father was involved in something illegal, but she had never imagined anything like this. "What does this have to do with me?" Alessia asked, feeling a sense of fear wash over her. Dominic's expression was grim. "Victor thinks you know something about your father's dealings," he said. Victor's eyes flashed with anger, and he took a step forward. "You're bluffing," he spat. The woman didn't flinch. "Am I?" she asked, her voice dripping with confidence.
