Chapter 6: Surrounded by Fury

1007 Words
"Leaving so soon?" I heard someone say through gritted teeth, which caused a horde of emotions to rampage through my brain nonstop. Unable to figure out what was going on, I talked to the voice inside my head, in hopes of receiving a positive response. However, I wasn't truly ready for my life to come crashing down again. Who is talking to me? Their voice is familiar. Where did I hear it before? I wondered while trying to calm my rapidly beating heart down. Despite trying my hardest, it was silent, as no sound was heard. Then, out of nowhere, I felt grimy fingernails dig into my shoulder, which caused a shiver to ram its way through my body. This had better be some joke! If it isn't, whoever it is will have serious consequences! I pondered, red-hot anger coursing through my body. Rip Screech What the f*CK was that? I whispered under my breath as they gripped me tighter, when a metallic scent wafted through my nostrils. And the room went eerily silent. It was as though you could hear the sound of a pin dropping on the floor. As they turned me around abruptly, I felt a hot red pain coursing through my veins with a vengeance, urging me to do something. Yet, I denied it, not paying much attention. Because hell would only know that I would eventually do something I'd probably regret. Right as I was about to walk away, the sound of boots echoed through the air, causing everyone to be quiet. "What is going on here?" A loud voice boomed, and the hair on my body stood on end. "Nothing's going on, Alpha. Just showing Sasha something here," Daniella said meekly, bowing her head. However, I wasn't going to let her have a say. So, I stood taller, turned, and faced the stranger, and my jaw dropped in shock. There he stood, Adam, whom I had seen a few minutes earlier. "Ad... Adam. What are you doing here?" I stuttered, unable to keep the surprise from my voice. "I came to see what the ruckus was," Adam spoke, his voice just above a whisper. As his words lingered in the air, my wolf started moving back and forth in my brain, urging me to do something. Yet, my mind focused on him, not her. Did he clench his teeth? I wondered, watching his gaze go from my face to my shoulder. There was something about it that put me on edge. Yet, curiousity got the best of me. So, I leaned closer to gain a reaction. I had to find out, but was I willing to risk it all. Although I have no clue on what's about to happen, I must ask for my own sanity. I thought, opening my mouth to speak. Right before I could respond, Adam raised his hand, as if he was going to touch me. Yet, he didn't. In fact, he grabbed my hand gently. And then he squinted his eyes. What is he doing? Is he second guessing himself? I thought while peering at him. Something was roaming around Adam's brain. A type of worry that I couldn't place. Not thinking much of it, I straightened my back and looked intently into his eyes. "What are you looking at?" I asked, not sure of the truth. "Who did this to you?" He growled, squeezing my shoulder. As his grip tightened slightly, the spot where she scratched me, began pulsating. Ouch! That hurt! I seethed internally, careful not let him hear. Then he let go before gently rubbing my back. As I felt the warmth of his hand, a sigh escaped my lips. "I'm sorry. I did not mean to hurt you." Adam whispered, leaning closer. Before he could get any further, a loud gasp interrupted us. And my wolf became antsy once again. But this time, it was filled with fury. "What are you doing? Why are you acting like that?" I asked her, anxiety rampaging my brain with every step she took. "Sasha, I don't like that one woman one bit! How dare she interrupt our time with him!" She growled. But, before I could answer her back, a loud, screechy voice rang through the air. Who would come here unannounced? I thought as anger fueled my body while I clenched my fists. "Adam! Are you cheating on me!?" Somebody hollered, their heels echoing against the hardwood floor, causing us to break apart. "Stella, it's not what it looks like. I was just..." Adam answered, quickly pushing me away from him. "Shut it! How f*cking dare you do this to me, your own wife! You know the impression you're making when you are all lovey dovey with that... that nothing!" She spat, her fangs growing out of her mouth. With every word she spoke, I felt tears pooling in my eyes. Yet, deep down, I always knew my strength despite everyone putting me down with mean words. I'm not going to react. She can say all those things to me. She won't see me as weak. I whispered to myself words of encouragement, urging myself to calm down. "Do something! Fight her! Show her who's boss!" My wolf spoke, her voice rising above a whisper. "Enough! How f*****g dare you say that about my mate!" Adam demanded, standing taller than before. But Stella scoffed, disbelief coursing through her veins. "Your mate? Hahaha. If she was, then why did we get married? And even complete the mate bond?" Stella stated, a wide smile appearing on her face as she stared at me. What does she mean? Adam is her mate? I don't believe it! That can't be true! I pondered, unsure of the outcome to the situation. Right as I was trying to figure things out, my wolf ran fast through my brain. "Let me out Sasha! Let me at her! She didn't just say that! I know she didn't fully take him from us!" My wolf declared in my mind, anger pushing her forward.
