Ridden with confusion and alcohol coursing through my veins, I fell into a deep sleep at the foot of my bed. Late the next morning, I woke up to a drool-sodden patch on my carpet and a throbbing headache. Remembering little of what had happened the previous night, I showered, dressed, and tried to eat something, all of this with terrible difficulty. Seated at my desk, ready to begin the laborious task of memorizing engineering formulas, I pulled out my notebook and my only Mont Blanc fountain pen. I began to write.
