After slumping onto the floor when I hear Fane and Asmodeus leave my bedroom door, I realize just how tired I really am. My back was aching all day. My jaw was hurting, head pounding, and now I know that the pain I was feeling earlier today, in college, was my demon coming to the surface and preparing me for my first transformation. For every supernatural that undergoes physical shifts, the first is always the hardest and most exhausting for the shifter. It leaves them with aches and pains for the next few days and sometimes a very nasty headache. I'm lucky that I am not experiencing either yet, just a few dull aches and tons of exhaustion.
