Although the clans have been at peace for the past 60 years, each clan still designs its branches with defense measures in place. Every demon and raven branch has an invisible forcefield around it in the shape of a dome so that the branch can not be penetrated by the skies above. In order for members to freely come and go as they please, they have a specific rune tattooed onto them that gives them access to their branch. All clans and branches have some type of defense measure similar, and in turn each have their own unique runes for access. Outsiders of the branch are given temporary runes with the approval of the deltas of said branch. Temporary runes last for 36 hours but can be renewed continuously without limit.
