Star's Point of View:
“As a demon, dawn and dusk work for me. I’m still down to hang on weekends,” he replies. Stacy follows with, “Weelll, I don’t like to ruin my school schedule but dawn isn’t too bad. A weekend won’t kill me.” I look at Fane and Stacy questioningly, what are these two up to? I get the sense that they are hiding something from me. “Okayyy, we can text deets later then,” I respond. “Gotta get to class, see you two later,” I say as I leave the cafe.
The rest of the day goes by in a blur and before I know it, it's time to leave campus, head home, and get ready to go to work. As most college students, our schedules end at different times so we head home separately once we’re done for the day. As I walk home, I get buried in my thoughts, as I often do. Ugh, I can’t believe Stacy is still encouraging that trio of fans. I felt like my face was going to be as red as a tomato when Fane and I heard Asmodeus say he had a boner. Ughhhh, why Asmodeus, why? Why are you such a persistent soul? Stacy seemed really on edge today with the whole lunch scene. I wonder if everything’s alright with her. I should ask her in private so as to not embarrass her in front of others. I know Fane just got back but maybe her and I could have one dedicated girls’ night this weekend, if she needs it. Hmm, I should ask her.
Thinking of Fane though, mmm, he seems yummy. Sexy, yummy. Although Asmodeus isn’t bad on the eyes either with his 5 foot 11 inches in height, spiky red hair, bright golden eyes, and fair complexion. They both look nice but in different manners. I wonder if they would want to share some fun time? Ugh, what is wrong with me. I never had these thoughts until I entered college. Sometimes, I don’t even know who these thoughts belong to. I feel like a different person ever since I hit eighteen and my dark desires and impulses have only seem to increase since I hit twenty one. If it weren’t so laughable, I’d believe Stacy is right. Maybe I really am a demon.
Frustrated with myself, I make it to my front door and enter my house. I heat up my prepared dinner from the fridge using the microwave and do my homework as I eat. Afterwards, I go down the hall to my bedroom and look about in the closet. I grab my work uniform, set it on my bed, and prepare to get dressed. I pull my shirt over my head and throw it into the nearby hamper. Humming a tune, I turn around and grab my work shirt. As I am about to put my shirt on, I notice my bedroom blinds are open. Oh great, you forgetful klutz. Look at what you did, I think to myself. I go over to close my bedroom blinds and as I head over I realize that across the street, from his bedroom window, Fane is watching me. Oh s**t! Oh s**t! This can not be happening. You dumb girl. WHYYYYYY? I scream to myself internally. I rush to close the blinds and then quickly slip on my shirt. Ugh, how long was he watching? “Ugh, doesn’t matter. He would never admit to it anyway,” I bitterly say. “Damn, I’m really gonna be kicking myself in the ass for that one.”
After finishing to get ready for work, I send Stacy over a few texts asking how she’s doing, if she needs some one-on-one time, and if she wants a girls' night this weekend. Satisfied, I begin my half hour long walk to work. Before I walk into the gallery I receive text messages from Stacy.
Stacy: Thanks. I’ve actually been wanting to talk to you since classes started today. Something’s just been on my mind. It would be great to have a girls night this weekend!
I reply:
Star: Great! Sounds good, which day are you thinking?
Stacy: Hmmm. How about Sunday, that way I can spend the night and we can head out to classes together Monday morning?
Star: Sure, can you text Fane the deets that it's gonna be a no guys allowed on Sunday? I’m about to start my work shift.
Stacy: Yep! No problem, can’t wait, wolfie! See you then Star!
Star: Well, we still have classes tomorrow, it’s a Friday. So I’ll probably see you in the morning anyway lol.
Stacy: Actually, I have no classes tomorrow. They’ve been cancelled by my professors due to a conference so I’ll be working on creating some thesis ideas for my upcoming thesis project next year. I super want to get ahead on that, it’s so daunting.
Star: Ah, ok. Good luck then! See you Saturday! Ttyl. xoxo
Stacy: Thanks, good luck with work! Xoxo
After finishing our text conversation, I put my phone away and head into work. Although the gallery is well known and caters more towards the nocturnal and crepuscular creatures, it is only near 1000 sq ft in size and one story high. Although, it does have impressively high raised ceilings that allow for bigger installations and sculptures. I head through the gallery and towards my office, stopping by the front desk before I do so.
“Any calls, messages, or things I should be aware of, Cynthia?” I ask the front desk secretary, Cynthia, a prospective beta witch from the Enchantment branch. “Not unless you count Trevor leaving you more flirtatious voicemails. I think he’s the only vampire that even dares to openly flirt with you,” she replies. “Isn’t Trevor a second in line prospective delta to the Bloodlust clan as well?” I ask. “Yeah, Asmodeus is still pursuing you?” she asks. “Yep,” I respond. Cynthia chuckles and says, “Those two really don’t leave you alone, do they?” “Tch, it would appear not.” I respond. “Someone’s annoyed,” Cynthia states. “That obvious eh?” I ask. “Well you tend to click your tongue and say tch, at times.” Cynthia answers. I chuckle. “Of course I do,” I say halfheartedly. “Well, if you need me, I’ll be in the office,” I state. While working I go about the usual, filing the necessary administrative work, handling operations, and etcetera.
After work, I wait for Cynthia to leave and lock up the gallery. I work from 8pm to 2am, six hours, five nights a week. By the time I get home it's past 2:30 am. I go about my usual night time routine and then, remembering my klutziness from before, I double check to make sure the blinds in the house are all closed, and then I lock up the house. Satisfied, I change into a pair of comfortable pajamas and then go to bed.
