Daniel POV
Watching her move about in the kitchen is quite mesmerising. She knows exactly what she’s doing, and appears so focused and steady. Nothing breaks her concentration.
I can’t wait to feel that body move under me. Or on top of me. Either or, she is mine tonight.
Too bad I have to sit through what seems is going to be a bloody 5-course meal.
She needs that food, so we’ll eat first. She’s been here quite a few days and slept most of the time.
Bex also seems to like her. And my shoes…
Stupid mutt. I still don’t see the point of the damn thing. I can protect myself, I am much stronger than it is. But Revenna likes dogs, so I guess Bex is staying.
Maybe I should tell her it’s hers, as a gift or something.
When it seemed like she was almost done, I got up from my chair and changed all my monitors over to screensavers. My finger found the hidden button under my desk which flipped 5 monitors around and they disappeared behind the wall, leaving only 1 behind.
I took a deep breath, and when I released it I was standing by the staircase downstairs. I crawled over to the kitchen door and watched her for a bit.
God my kitchen is a mess; she is very lucky that magic can fix this mess.
“Well, there goes his pretty kitchen.”
Revenna starts turning around looking at the hurricane she let loose through the kitchen.
“How did I get flour on the wall?”
That’s probably my que.
“Just look at you,” I said with the most convincing laughter I could create, although I am not feeling it.
I’m still staring at the damned mountain of dishes when she turns around, and I quickly avert my gaze and stare into her brown orbs.
I took a moment to look her over because she is just as dirty as the kitchen. No, scratch that, she isn’t, the kitchen is worse.
“Why don’t you go change and I’ll set a table? I can’t wait to eat, the aroma has been taunting me for hours.”
She moved past me without saying a word and jogged up the stairs.
“Jesus!” I wished she was still asleep.
With a deep sign, I headed over to the dining area. I clipped the sides of the table loose and pulled the table to elongate it, before securing it in place again. I snapped my fingers, and the entire room was filled with different candles all over the place.
I pulled my head back and closed my eyes. Once I opened them again, they were ablaze with the orange glow of fire. I slowly brought my head down, and widened my eyes to send the flames out. I watched as the flames split into smaller flames and each one individually moved towards a candle to light it.
I brushed my hands over my shirt, which then changed to a dress shirt and a pair of jeans.
I headed over to the bar to switch on the lights, then moved to stand next to the staircase.
Perfect timing. Here she comes.
As soon as her feet hit the floor, I guided her over to the bar.
"Wow, this bar is nicely stocked."
“So what will it be, darling?” I placed my hands casually on the counter with one hand to each side of Revenna, almost like caging her in against a wall, but without the wall and the caging.
So far, he might just be my favorite barman.
“I better be,” I leaned slightly forward and noticed how Revenna closed her eyes, waiting for a kiss. Not yet, sweetheart.
I placed a glass in front her, making sure she heard it, and started mixing up a gin and tonic for her. With extra gin, but she doesn't need to know that.
“Not yet, I want to try everything you made first. You’re my dessert.” God, I hate saying stuff like this, but she clearly loves it, so I'll keep with it.
"Yummy, can’t wait!"
“Freya, f*ck off.” I can’t ever enjoy a moment with him without her interrupting.
I genuinely chuckled this time. I have her wrapped around my finger. Maybe the s*x will be good.
I poured a whiskey for myself and took both our drinks over to the table.
“I’ll go get the soup.” She stated before heading off to the kitchen. Which was still a war zone.
When she came back, she gently placed a bowl in front of me, then brushed her hand against mine, before tracing her hand all the way up my arm. The gesture was enough to make me want to reach out and pull her onto my lap, but she expected that and whirled away with a giggle before taking a seat opposite me.
I enjoyed the rest of the evening with her, and enjoyed the food. She really had a knack for cooking, and the lobster was exquisite. I made sure to keep her glass full. She had about 5 gin and tonic's while I steadily sipped 3 whiskeys.
I cleared the table and went to get the dessert. Croissants with strawberries and chocolate.
I took another look at my ruined kitchen. I lifted my hands to eye level and swayed them outwards, making everything in the kitchen lift up into the air and move to their rightful places. In the process, the grease and grime cleared away just before everything was back in place. The countertops were also completely free of any white flour marks or chocolate stains.
I 'm having a great time but I wonder if maybe this wasn’t going too fast. I still haven’t been able to really ask him anything, so I barely know him.
Oh, no you don't.
I strut out of the kitchen with the dessert, and see how she tried to mask her emotions with joy. Yeah, right.
“I know you still have a thousand questions for me, but can we please just enjoy this one night.” I practically threw her plate at her, and just went over to take a seat, yet I refused to look at her.
I could feel the heat in my eyes as they seared, and I knew they were bright red at that moment. I fixed my gaze on the dessert and the chocolate started melting, running off the strawberries, over the base of the croissant and pooling on the plate.
I heard Revenna's breath catch and I knew she was shocked at what she saw.
I think that's enough for one night.
I focused on my eyes and felt the burning sensation slowly ease away whilst the golden glow returned. I looked up at her, and she finally let out that breath before turning blue.
I got up from the seat, and disappeared before her, reappearing in my room.
I made my way over to my desk and hit the enter key, just in time.
"What was that? Where did he go? How did he do that?"
“Why did he react like that?”
I'll think of something to tell her tomorrow. Right now I just need space.
I pressed the button under my desk again and my other monitors returned.
Revenna sat at the table for a few minutes, before clearing everything away.
When she reached the kitchen she almost dropped the desserts at the sight of the clean kitchen.
She stalked over to the island, placed the plates there and left. I saw how she made her way upstairs and into her room.
She changed into more comfortable clothes to sleep in and went straight to bed.
Thank God.
