The plots seemed to deal with their competition of a similarly gifted male detective who had offices across town.
While the female detective was alluring and provocative and bubbly, the male detective was a bit sour on life and women and requisite social graces.
Yet they kept running into each other in the first book, finally meeting to exchange their clues and together apprehending the criminal so the officials could arrest them.
