XVIIIWITH OUR FEET UP, MARTHA and I did our final proofing. Once we went through it and made our notes, she then started fixing these on her screen. I had my arm across the couch back behind her head, holding my phablet so we could both see it. She had the computer on her lap, and was typing away. The pizza box was between our feet on the coffee table. That tended to push our hips toward each other, leaving enough room for her elbow between us. Once we had finished, she typed "The End". Then she surprised me with the cover. She had gotten the same artist I'd used for the first three books in that series. This cover had our two detectives in period clothing, tied face to face, and suspended above an unseen threat below. She'd already written an excellent come-on description. Martha h
