CHAPTER 10 “This way.” Enzo smiled gently at me. Causing me to feel nervous. I followed Enzo into the large hallways of the castle. Feeling anxious for where he was taking me. “Where are we going, Enzo?” I asked, but he only continued to smile at me. “I want to show you something.” He stated, then he stopped as we turned into a new hallway filled with paintings. “This is the history of all the Kings And Queens of this kingdom.” I felt intrigued by the portraits as I stepped near them. Taking in every detail. “They were all once leaders over the wolves, sharing their knowledge and strength for every new heir.” I took in the information with new interest. “Why are you showing me this?” I asked all of sudden, causing Enzo to cough awkwardly. A tint of red displaying on his cheeks. “Because, I thought. Maybe one day.” And then he pulled at my hand, as he led all the way down the hallway. Until the last portrait which was of himself. “Is that you?” I asked surprised. Enzo only groaned. “Yeah, but I didn’t bring you here to show you my picture.” He sighed out, I only chuckled at his embarrassment. “I wanted to show you this” he pointed out to the area of the wall next to his portrait. I looked confused, eyeing the empty wall. “But there’s nothing there.” I knitted my eyes together, confused. “That’s the beauty of it.” He spoke up. “The future could be anything.” He looked down at me with gentle eyes. I almost coughed out in embarrassment. Trying to hide my burning face, but Enzo wouldn’t let me. Placing a lonely strand of hair behind my ear. “Chandra-“ “Brother! You’re back!” A girl with an elegant dress on yelled out, running towards Enzo with open arms. Enzo let go of my hand, opening up his arms for the the girl to jump into and embrace him. “I’ve missed you.” She mumbled into his chest. A new kind of feeling over took me, as I began to frown at the scene before me. “I’ve missed you too, Bonnie.” ‘Bonnie, huh? It’s not even a pretty name.’ I thought envious. “Enzo, who’s this?” Bonnie asked, pulling me out of my jealous thoughts. “This is Chandra, Queen Selene’s daughter.” Enzo stated proudly, Bonnie only smiled sweetly at me. “It’s nice to meet you, I’m Bonnie. Enzo’s little sister.” I felt stupid at my last thoughts, feeling myself heat up from embarrassment. “Oh, I’m Chandra.” I responded with a smile. Then remembering how Enzo already told her a few seconds ago. As if catching onto my embarrassment, Enzo speaks up. “Chandra, why don’t I take you to your room?” Enzo asked. “I’m sure you’re in need of some rest from all of our travelling.” I nodded my head, thankful for Enzo’s observant eye. “Well, it was nice to meet you Chandra. I can’t wait to spend some more time with you.” She smiled sweetly. “It’s been lonely without any girl company. Enzo hasn’t been brining any back the month he was away.” I felt my heart stop at her words. But she only continued to smile sweetly at me. “It’s okay, they didn’t have any shoes on either.” She whispered the last part, causing me to frown as I felt naked by my bare feet. Enzo then pulled me away holding my hand tightly, putting me behind him. “I think that’s enough family bonding for today. Don’t you have chores to do, Bonnie?” But Bonnie only continued to smile happily. “Of course, thank you for reminding me. I should be going then, you two take care.” She spoke cheerily, walking away down the corridor she came from. Enzo sighed while I pulled my hand back. “I think I’ll take you up on that offer.” I spoke lowly, hiding any hurt I felt for the comment his sister made. ‘Why am I surprised? He is the Lycan king. He’s single, handsome, powerful, young. We’ll kinda.’ “Chandra-“ “I’m tired, can you please show me my room?” I asked quietly, but he only sighed nodding his head. “Follow me.” He replied, walking towards the west wing of the castle. “This is the west wing. Only other person that stays here is me. Everyone else stays in the east wing, while the chefs and cleaners stay in the south area.” “What about the pack families?” I asked curious. “They don’t stay in the castle, they have their own homes in the village nearby. It’s still on pack grounds though.” I only nodded my head. “Well, if you need anything just call out, I’m only around the hall.” Again I nodded, but Enzo only sighed. “Chandra if you’re bothered by what Bonnie said, just know it’s-“ “Thank you, Enzo. For letting me stay here.” I smiled, not wanting to bring up the topic. It was useless anyway. He owed me no explanation. “But Chandra-“ “Goodnight, Enzo.” I then shut my door gently, sighing as I leaned my head against the door. I then turned my attention towards the bed. Smiling as I went to jump into it like a small kid. Falling straight to sleep as my head hit the pillow.
