Abigail POV
My father is dropping me off at school not only to make sure that I get to school but also to keep up with appearances of us being a "happy" family and him a responsible and doting father. As we pull up to the school my father looks back with this hard yet pleading look and says with a stern voice "Abigail, please stay at school today and do not cause any trouble. you're 16 and getting a little old for these shenanigans, don't you think?"
I take a second to look at his aging face and I feel pity for him. He wants the perfect life with the perfect daughter but I'm far from perfect. My father strives really hard to be an understanding father, he knows I'm growing and the the principal's daughter gives me a hard time in school so he tries not to be too hard on me. Some times I press my luck with his mild temperment. Most of the time I can't help it, I'm compulsive and other times I plan it out and if things don't go according to my plan then I wing it. I've caused a lot of issues for my father lately and I can feel him loosing his patience with me so I decide to pity him and compromise with my answer "I'll do my best to behave while at school."
Unfortunately for him, I made no promises to stay at school today. See, yesterday, Stacey, the head of the skinnany tw*t squad, decided to trip me while we were in the cafeteria. I was headed to put my tray up when she got up from where she was sitting and walked my way. she had her head down pretending to watch her feet as she carries a banana pudding bowl to a "friend" down the table. As she got closer I seen the evil smirk on her slender face. when I passed her, she stuck her foot out and tripped me and as I was falling, she stuck her hand out with the banana pudding bowl and caught my face with it. Stacey's response was "Sorry, I was only trying to help! Guess I forgot I had pudding in my hand during my act of kindness!"
I was infuriated, I had went most of the day without an incident and silly me got my hopes up with thinking I might actually have a good day for once. Boy was I wrong!
So, sorry father, I have no plans of staying at school today. I have a special surprise waiting for Stacey when she gets home today.
Father's facial features soften and as I got out of the car he bellows out "Have a great day sweety! I love you!" I look back smile at my father and tell him I love him too... I may not be perfect but it warms my heart to know my father never fails to show me he love me.
I have no friends at this school, so I head straight to my math class with no altercations. I don't get my hopes up for the rest of the day i choose to stay at school because it is still quite early in the day. I take my seat right as the bell rings and the substitute teacher walks in right after with principal Anita hot on his his tail.
Principal Anita is Stacey's mother so you can understand why she didn't get into any trouble yesterday or any other time her daughter decides to lash out at me for real reasons at all and why they both will have a surprise waiting for them at home later today. I smile as I think about the revenge I will dish out after my next class.
Sorry daddy, a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do.
Mrs. Anita smooths out the imaginary wrinkles in her skirt and links her lips before she begins to speak "Alright class, this is your substitute teacher for the next few weeks, Mr. Haygon Daydrake. he will be taking over for Mr. Andy while he recovers. Over the weekend Mr. Andy off a ladder and broke his arms and legs while helping his daughter with her roof. I trust that you all, and she looks directly at me with a stern look, will be on your best behavior. " She then turns to Mr. Haygon and tells him " If you would like to have the kids to make Mr. Andy a get well soon card that is entirely up to you. Good luck Mr. Haygon" and then left the room.
