"Miss, I'll be outside waiting." I nodded at Theo, my bodyguard.
I am now inside of one of the biggest malls in Asia. I am not in my best mood today and I am not feeling well, so I waste my money on clothes I know I will only wear once or will not have the chance to wear at all. This is my pleasure and it satisfies me to use my money on expensive things and, fortunately, my money is limitless and I never run out of money. Perks of being born rich.
As I walk around in the mall, I am searching for something that I will get my attention. Until... I saw this store which was glittery and it had a bar or club vibe, so I decided to check it out.
"Good afternoon Hermosa! How can I help you?" So it's afternoon already, huh? I forgot to check.
"Uhm, good afternoon. Your store is very attractive and I am just checking this out. What kind of service do you offer?"
"If you want something, we will find it for you. Bars, clubs, casinos, 7-star hotels and many more or perhaps... a person?. What do you need, ma'am?" What is this? A detective kind of store? What is even the name of this store? I didn't pay much attention to it. The designs just get my attention and interest.
There's nothing wrong if we try.... "Okay, I wanted the Harry Winston jewelry, which is "The Pink Legacy" but it was sold years ago at an auction. I wanted to track down where it is now." He guided me to where to go somewhere in the store. It was a fancy store, I noticed some of the a million worth of paintings hanging in the hallway.
He guides me until we reached this maroon door with glitter on it. He opened it and I was impressed by the interior design. It's cleaner and more on minimalist than the outside that looks like a glitter party theme.
"Wait here, Ma'am. I'll track the source for you." And he left.
"Miss, Is this safe?" I looked at Theo and nodded.
This is interesting. I am starving but this one got me high.
"Theo, ask them if they offer drinks." Theo nodded and left.
My phone rang and I got really excited when I saw the caller ID.
"Hello Mom! I miss you! I am now in the Philippines. I got bored so I went shopping."
"Sierra, ang sabi ko sayo mag tagalog ka kapag kausap mo ako." Oh, I forgot.
"Nakalimutan ko po. Patawad" I am still not a good Tagalog speaker. I am conyo and not maarte but when I speak Tagalog I sound like super maarte.
"Mommy, bat ka po napa tawag? Are you okay?" Theo came back with the drink. It's a vodka with fresh olive in it.
"You're dad gifted me a necklace worth 30M, Sierra. Alam mo naman na hindi ako masyadong nag susuot ng jewelry unless kung may big events. I have plenty of them. He should just donate nalang sana the 30M in my charity." My mom sounds so stressed. My mom is a simple Filipina girl. As in super simple.
One time we were in this exclusive hotel room, the hotel staff mistakenly took my mother as our kasambahay. Nakakaloka. Kapag wala masyadong ganap in our everyday life si mommy naka tshirt and maong short lang and with flip flops. Although my mother looks rich kahit ganun ang suot, may ibang tao parin talaga na mababa ang tingin sa kasambahay. I was not raised matapobre because my mom's flip flops would fly directly in my ass.
The man who entertained me ago comes back with a tablet.
"Mom, I gotta go. I'll help you with your problema po later." And I hung up.
"So.... where is it?"
He shows me the tab with an open location on it,
"Mrs. Evergreen have it. She won the auction and she's known as the diamond bidder. Of course, the auction is strict with the bidder's information but I heard she is currently living in Beverly Hills. She loves all kinds of rare diamonds or as long as it is a diamond with high value. We can't give more information aside from this. I hope we help you." I sipped the last drop of vodka and faced him. Interesting, but it was just a test. They are trusted and resourceful, I see.
"How much is it?"
"Since it's your first visit, it is completely free, miss. But I'll give you a card. It serves as a loyalty card. Thank You! See you again."
"I'm full.... and tired." Damn. I slammed myself into my bed.
I think I need to play golf tomorrow, or maybe tennis? I don't know. Being this rich is amazing, but it is also boring. I think I need to get a permanent job with a fake background. It's hard to find a job with such a background. I want to work in the lowest paying job first and can be promoted by the time. But with such an educational background? I doubt that. I first worked at my dad's company. Of course, I plead that there will be no bias against the other people who apply for the job. I applied for a manager position and luckily I got rejected, which is refreshing. Then the next day came, they called and said that my skills do not deserve the manager position, it should be higher, like CEO assistant, CEO's right hand and many more jobs just below the position of a CEO. Sick.
In my 25 years of existence, the moment of me being excited about something is rare. Why? I got all I wanted without me asking for it. I am Sierra Fox Griffin. My name holds such a privilege the day that I was born. My last name is respected in society, especially in the circle of socialites. We are aristocrats and my father's family has been rich since its first generation. Even if I burn most of our properties, we still have enough. We can still live lavishly through countless generations without working. And lastly, being this rich is kinda..........boring.
