Aurora’s POV
“MOTHER… NOOOOOO”
I catapulted myself next to my mother’s side.
She was wheezing. That arrow had gone right through her lungs.
“My beautiful baby girl, you look just like him”
“Mother please, help me! I cannot teleport both of us back to the Coven house on my own; I am not powerful enough on my own! Mother please, hold my hand…”
“I met him right over there, you know?”
“shhh, Mother please don’t speak, save your strength. It’s all right, you can tell me all about it when we get back home!” I need to get us out of here. I put my mother’s arm around my shoulders, and wrap my arm around her middle, and we start heading towards the town. “no, Aura... you are going the wrong way, my darling.” she can barely speak, she's wheezing between words, which are little over a whisper but I have always had very good hearing, so I heard her. “where then, mother?” she mumbles something under her breath and then I see a small flashing ball of white light the size of a marble appear, and in a flash starts moving towards the river, we follow it, it brings us to the river bank and then starts traveling upstream to the waterfall. I am dragging my mother at this point but I don’t care, I need to get us to safety, I can hear the hunters and their howling rabid dogs right behind us. I jump in the river and start walking upstream following the marble of condensed lighting. The light jumps up a few stones and then dives behind the water falling, I put my mother on my shoulders and climb of the stones under the steady stream of falling water. "hold on tight mum, we're almost there!" We find ourselves in a small cave behind the waterfall. I'm breathless and not because I've been running and climbing rocks whilst dragging my mother I've always been very athletic with really good stamina, but because this cave is so beautiful. wow, how did Mother know about this place? my mind is running 100 miles an hour but I lay my mother down on the rocky ground and try to prioritize them. Now that we are safe for a bit, I need to concentrate and get us out of here. I feel the vibrations but I am not very strong, I've never been very powerful, even though I am the daughter and granddaughter of our fearless leaders, direct descendants of the druids, I can’t keep the bridge open. I try again, I can’t move us.
“ugh why would you bring us so far away from home, I can’t open the bridge.” Maybe I can get in touch with aunty, I close my eyes and kept trying with all my mighty to reach my aunt’s mind, if I can’t teleport us back, maybe she’s strong enough to pull us back home, mother needs urgent care, the hunters had been shooting iron arrows, they somehow knew we were witches.
“Aura, I need to tell you something.” she coughs “I should have brought you here sooner, to show you what really happened that n...” another fit of cough. Mother was getting weaker, her wheezing was getting worse, she was now coughing blood. “it’s alright mother, I’m not mad at him for abandoning us.” “oh but he didn’t, I left him because of my premonition...” she whispers, and then the mumbling starts again. And a flash of light, and then I’m catapulted into her memory, I’m in this same cave, but someone is living here. There are gathered flowers hanging to dry on the cave’s walls, a small bundle of blankets in a corner. I see a shadow near the entrance, I look up. A man walks in with a woman in his arms, bridal style. I look at her, she seems familiar. “Gasp. Mom, is that you? Who is he? Oh my Goddess why is he naked!” I hear a branch breaking near us, oh no they found us. I close my eyes and start praying. I try one last time my aunt and miraculously manage to link her ~aunt V mum is hurt, we’re surrounded by hunters PLEASE HELP US~
And then I felt it, the familiar pulling sensation, surrounded by a warm glow, “we don't have time to finish this trip down memory lane mother, hold on, we’re going to be alright” and in a flash we were back home.
“Mother, see we made it!” no reply, no wheezing sound. I look down at my mother’s face, she was smiling, but had stopped breathing, “Mother, no!”
