I sat there impatiently waiting for Nick to bring Alyssa to me.
I stood up and started pacing the park.
I was now holding the key necklace and silently praying that Alyssa would just listen to me and would not jump into conclusions.
"Dan?"
I turned around and it only Nick.
"Where is my wife?"
Nick shook his head.
"She found out and ran away. I couldn't stop her." Nick shrugged, walking over.
I couldn't speak and my heart was beating hard against my chest.
"She told me to give you this and to tell you that, the Paterson family won. What does that mean?"
Nick handed me the engagement and wedding ring and my heart felt a sharp pain.
What does this mean? She doesn't want to stay married to me again?
