The trees whispered secrets, their branches reaching toward the sky like desperate fingers. Elizabeth's heart pounded as they stepped into the darkness. As the rift hummed with otherworldly energy, Elizabeth and Eddie stood side by side, their breaths visible in the chilly air. The anticipation weighed heavily on them, yet in that charged moment, they found solace in each other's presence. Eddie's fingers brushed against hers, and she turned to meet his gaze. His brown eyes held a mixture of determination and vulnerability. "We'll avenge them," he whispered, his voice barely audible over the crackling rift. "No matter what." Elizabeth nodded, her blue eyes mirroring his resolve. "Together," she said. "We're not alone in this." As they looked at their friends that surround them. And then, as if the universe conspired to grant them a fleeting respite, Eddie leaned closer. His lips brushed against her temple, a gentle promise. "Heroes, remember?" he murmured. She smiled, warmth blooming within her. "Heroes," she echoed. They waited, their hands entwined, hearts beating in sync. Around them, the others—Steve Harrington, Max Mayfield, and the rest—joined the circle. Their eyes reflected the same eerie glow, a shared purpose that transcended fear and doubt.
