It's 3 o'clock in the morning and Kacie came home drunk again. She was carefully turning the door knob, so she wouldn't wake anyone up but when she finally opened the door, the lights went on and her mother was there furiously waiting for her.
"Where were you? Do you know what time it is? I don't know what's going on with you Kacie, but this has got to stop." her mother angrily shouted.
"Sorry mom, I was just out with my friends and had a few drinks." "I'm going upstairs now, good night mom" Kacie kissed her mother and went off to bed.
The next morning she woke up with a headache, as she was going downstairs to get some coffee, her sister Tammy was there. The kitchen was quiet... until...
"You know I don't get you." her sister said. "You don't get what?" she replied. "I don't get you! I don't get why you're acting like an ass all the time. I mean you graduated from college on top of your class but here you are wasting your life by hanging out with people who don't even know you!" said Tammy angrily.
"Oh and you do? You know me so well, huh?" Kacie replied.
"I thought I did, but now I'm not so sure".
"Well news flash sister, you don't know me, nobody in this house does." Kacie said as she walked away.
"What the hell does that suppose to mean?" Tammy yelled as she watched Kacie went out the door.
While at a friends house, Kacie was trying to drown herself in alcohol again just to forget her unbearable pain.
A few other people were there, she didn't know most of them. Her friends were having the time of her life while she was sitting in one corner sulking, at some point she found herself alone in the room because all of her friends were outside dancing.
As she was about to leave coz she's had enough for one night, she was headed for the door when someone grabbed her from behind.
"Hey honey where are you going?" a man said. He grabbed her shoulders and turned her facing him.
"Please let me go." Kacie asked with a trembling voice.
"Oh come on, we're just gonna have some fun, it's just the two of us now" insisted the man.
Kacie quickly turned around and tried to open the door, but the man was too strong that he was able to lock the door and started grabbing Kacie's breasts.
"Please stop" cried Kacie.
She tried to get his hands off her, but he was just too strong, and she was a little drunk.
The man started kissing her on the neck and continued harassing her body.
Then Kacie with all of what strength is left in her managed to push the man hard enough for her to get away, and she quickly ran out the door. She ran for her life, she ran home crying.
When she got home, it was past 3 in the morning. She was exhausted, scared, angry and most of all terrified. When she opened the door her sister was waiting for her to give her a lecture.
"Not now Tammy please" Kacie uttered.
"Oh no Missy, we are going to talk right now because I can't bear to watch mom worry about you anymore, she would stay up late and fall asleep by the phone waiting for a phone call, so you need to explain yourself now!" Tammy angrily replied.
"Fine! You wanna know why I'm acting like this? It's because I'm broken! I'm a worthless piece of sh*t that doesn't deserve to live! Happy now?"shouted Kacie.
"What are you talking about Kacie? What's going on?" Tammy worriedly asked.
"Oh so now you wanna listen? Okay I'll tell you, remember dad's funeral? Uncle Rick took me to the basement room, and he told me we would play a game, a game that I conveniently seemed to always lose and every time I lose, he would tell me to lay down, and he would remove my undies, and he would start licking me down there! I tried to tell you that time, but you wouldn't listen, you sent me away." Kacie told her sister crying.
"Kacie I didn't know" cried Tammy.
"Of course you didn't, I was 7, who would believe me anyway. Oh! And there's this one time, when I was sleeping in my room one afternoon, I woke up with him on top of me. My clothes were still on, but he was on top of me swaying up and down, touching me, that's why I ran so fast and didn't come home till late that night, I was 9. And to make matters worse, I ran from my friends house just now because a random guy grabbed my breasts and started kissing me in the neck as I was about to leave, so yeah, there you go. Welcome to my messed up, shitty of a life!" Kacie sat in the sofa crying. Her sister Tammy came over to hug her.
"Kacie, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry I didn't listen. We should tell mom, we should go to the police." Tammy suggested.
"No, please don't tell mom, I don't want to give her any more problems that I already have. Please, Tammy." Kacie begged.
"Okay." Tammy agreed.
The next morning, Tammy still decided to tell her mother what Kacie told her last night. Her mother was shocked and beyond disbelief, so she asked Tammy to wake Kacie up, so they could talk.
"Kacie, I told mom."
"What? Why would you do that Tammy?' Kacie said. "Mom..."
"Stop Kacie! I've had enough of your lies and your unacceptable behavior, your late night parties and coming home drunk in the wee hours of the morning and now this? You accuse your uncle Rick of something so terrible? Are you that desperate for attention?" her mother said.
Kacie and Tammy looked at each other stunned and couldn't believe what they both just heard.
"Mom I'm telling the truth" Kacie cried. In the corner of her eye, Kacie caught her uncle coming into the kitchen.
"What are you talking about Kacie? I didn't touch you, why are you making up these stories? After all that I've done to help this family, this is what I get?" Rick said.
"Kacie, apologize to your uncle" her mom commanded.
"What? Mom are you kidding? You're really gonna believe him more than me? I'm your daughter!" cried Kacie.
"You haven't been my daughter for the longest time Kacie, I don't know who this person is anymore" her mother replied.
" Right, of course you don't know me!" Kacie replied.
"Apologize to your uncle right now, and we'll put this behind us and start over." her mom demanded.
"NO!" shouted Kacie as she ran fast upstairs.
She shut the door, took a backpack and stuffed some clothes in it, emptied her piggy bank, shoved the money in her pocket and climbed down through the window.
She was about to run away....
