After collecting himself on the balcony Arch decided to attend. He’d come in search of his Mate, he couldn’t continue to forget that.
“Hello.” Said a feminine voice behind him.
Arch swung a little too quickly towards the drapes that hung from the golden balcony windows. She was a Lycan, hiding in the fabric? Was she there the whole time?
“Sorry I was admiring the Moon when you came outside. It seemed silly of me to disrupt your brewing.” She said with a sweet voice.
“I was not brewing, just clearing my mind.” Said the Alpha trying to seem friendly.
All he needed was another Lycan that wanted to talk all night.
“Well, I won’t keep you.” She said with a flutter of her eyes.
She was beautiful, even he could admit, but he had a goal for tonight and it was not to keep the Lycans from being bored.
“Good night.” He said as he walked past her.
The party was alive with music, drinking, and laughter. Hundreds of people were dancing about, the waltz, seemed.
He hated dancing.
He hated all this fancy stuff.
The bright lights, the noise, the crystal chandeliers hanging all over the ceiling. Wolves did not require all of this, it was a waste of a life. He glanced around the laughing couples dancing on the floor. None of these people were his mate, as he’d suspected she was not here. He’d sensed her by now, this trip was a complete waste.
“And you said you’re not brewing. I’d say your upset your Mate isn’t here. Is that the only reason you came? No fun to had otherwise?” Said the woman from the balcony.
She was wearing a scarlett dress and had long brown wavy hair that smelled of strawberries. He’d smelled her scent, the moment he’d come onto the balcony but there were so many bouncing around he’d ignored it.
“No.” He grumbled as he walked past the beautiful lycan and back into the ballroom.
Arch had walked into the ballroom without checking for others and bumped into a waitress, knocking her tray of horderves to the ground.
The waitress gasped and stared down at the ground where the food lay. For just a second he’d sensed her anger but also instantaneously that turned into fear.
“I’m sorry Miss, here I’ll help you-“
“No!” She hissed knocking his hand away, just as a looming figure raced down to check the situation.
