Recovering

Claire also uses the bathroom after me whilst I get dressed. I put on some pants then pick up the kit the doctor gave me for dressing my wound. I choose a high place to sit, which is the dinning table then rip off my old band aid before opening the kit. I look at the stuff in there for a while confused at what to do. I see a pack of large and small band aids and some scissors. I pick out a transparent liquid in a small glass bottle to see what it is. This is all confusing. Claire comes out of her closet and I hear her chuckle at me before walking over. "Lemme help, you look stranded." "It's that obvious, huh?" She smiles at me shaking her head as she takes the glass bottle. She suddenly pauses a bit and stares at my abdomen but I'm sure her eyes are more fixated on my abs. In an oversized shirt and shorts, she ties her hair into a ponytail right in front of me and I smile mesmerized at her beauty. She takes some cotton wool from the kit then pours some of the transparent liquid on it. She inspect the bullet wound which hasn't healed due to the wolfsbane. She touches my abs and I feel the sparks almost making me pull her closer to me. I watch as she places the wool on the wound and I immediately flinch moving back at the same time. The liquid burns my wound and Claire looks at me a bit perplexed. "Sorry, I thought it wouldn't hurt." She apologizes. "It's okay." I say through clenched teeth. "What is that?" I ask referring to the liquid. "It's hydrogen peroxide it's for disinfecting wounds." I nod. "Is it alcohol?" She shrugs. "I don't know, humans use it a lot when they're hurt, it prevents their wounds from becoming infected. But since it hurts I'll probably used some soap and water next time." I smile at her thoughtfulness. Honestly I've never been this hurt to be sent home with band aids. I chose to leave the hospital sooner than I should have so the kit was a must since I insisted. Maybe I should finally agree to this family doctor thing to prevent travels to the main hospital. Claire pours more disinfectant and I ready myself for the burn. She applies it on the wound again and I clench my jaws. "I heard you donated your blood to me." I say causing her to pause. She sighs then stands straight to look me in the eyes. "I know you wouldn't agree but I had to. The human blood you were being giving wasn't working. I couldn't just stand there and watch---" "I'm not angry." I interrupt causing her to pause. "Though I'm totally against it, you saved my life, again. I'm actually grateful." I speak with sincerity and gratefulness causing her to smile. Now I just need my body to adjust to the new blood, her blood. Assuming I don't lose control before that, it's really going to be hard to control my blood thirst around her now. She continues to disinfect my wounds and I occupy myself with watching her work. The claw marks on my chest and shoulder is completely healed with no scars which is weird considering something that deep was supposed to leave scars. * "The amount of wolfsbane that was in your bloodstream should have shot you down for months on end. Your mate's blood really worked wonders. I'm still surprised, because the only wound you now have is the bullet wound since it was the point of impact. It'll take some time for it to completely heal too." I remember the doctors words. I guess my mate's blood is stronger than I thought because he even advised me to take in more for a much quicker recovery. I totally dismissed that idea, and I won't let Claire know. "All done." She says after covering the wound with a band aid. "Thanks little wolf." I look at her impeccable work and smile. She puts everything back into the kit then stares at me. "Anything else?" She asks and I smile even wider. I spread my arms wide open causing her to look at me surprised. She chuckles before giving me the hug as I inhale her scent too. "You remember that hug you gave me at the hospital, the one after I woke up?" I ask and she pulls away from me looking more surprised. "Can we do that now?" I ask in the most innocent way I never thought I could be. Claire chuckles before nodding. "Sure. But you have to rest." She retorts looking serious. "We can cuddle, on the bed." I suggest causing her to laugh. Can you blame me? I suddenly want her closer to me than before. I don't know if it's her blood in my system or the fact that I almost died again, I just want to hold her. "Sure, we can cuddle." She smiles at me and I stand to give her a hug before surprising her again by carrying her off her feet. She chuckles as I place her on the bed. "Some minutes ago you could barely walk on your own." She says causing me to feign guilt. "Well what can I say, your touch healed me." She laughs at my statement and I bend over her on the bed to give her a kiss. We make ourselves comfortable on the bed and I cuddle her from behind. "Can I ask a question?" She asks. "Sure." "Why is it that we don't have a family doctor?" I smile at her question. "Because we done need one, the injuries around here weren't that serious to require medical attention." "Well I think you should reconsider, anything might happen to anyone." She says and I admire her thoughtfulness again. "Of course little wolf." I smile again not bringing up the fact that I already thought of it. 'Oh, I almost forgot. I'll be going for the council meeting tomorrow." I sigh when she says this. "I totally forgot about that." I say. "It's okay." She replies turning to face me. "I'm coming with you, I can't let you go alone." I look into her hazel eyes. "No, you're going to rest. I'll go with Logan and Lucas so you don't have to worry." She smiles at me. "But I need to be there in case--" "You need rest Ethan, we are not debating on this." She says stubbornly then turns away from me. I try not to chuckle. "I'll be okay. Trust me." She says as I move closer to her. "Okay, I trust you." I say reluctantly. Of course I'm going to go above and beyond to make sure no harm comes to her. I was planning on tightening the security anyway but its good to see Logan had it done already. "Also, how did you know about my former pack's cut of ties with the humans. I didn't even know that." I crease my forehead at the question until I remember. "It was during the six months vacation, Chris couldn't reach you so he called me. I forgot to tell you because a lot was going on at the time." I speak remembering how tired and miserable she was since she couldn't sleep due to her nightmares. Thankfully that's no more. "I thought you now knew since you went to visit before we left." I speak then watch her closely. "Yeah, but I didn't really go out that much, so I guess I never realized." She responds. That part of her story still doesn't add up but let's not ruin the moment.
