Pack your bags

1189 Words
Claire's POV I stare right at my reflection in the mirror, but I don't like the person who stares back at me. She has huge bags under her eyes and she is the definition of the most miserable person on the whole planet. I sigh at my reflection then lean onto the sink with my hands on both sides. I stare into my eyes and I can see it losing its life and colour, it's like I'm fading away slowly. Maybe it was a bad idea to take off the bracelet in the first place. I stare at the bracelet whilst drowning everything in the background. I see what looks like burnt marks and I blow out air through my mouth before staring back at my reflection. "Gosh.” I whisper at the sight of my huge eye bags and I realise I have to cover it up. I don't have any makeup bag but luckily I do have a killer sunglasses that will go very well with my outfit. Now the reason for the bags under my eyes is my lack of sleep for the past two days. I thought the nightmares were finally gone but it seems they've gotten worse and that kinda scares me a bit. "Claire, it's almost time.” Ethan knocks on the bathroom door and I come back to planet earth. "Okay.” I respond before looking for my sunglasses to put on. I nod at my reflection then grab my bag and head for the door. With my hand still on the door knob I take one last look at the bathroom. I really had some amazing memories here. I smile before opening the door to meet Ethan at the other side staring at his phone. Hopefully he won't say anything about my sunglasses. "Hey. I'm ready.” I announced my presence whilst looking around the room that made us comfortable for the past six months but I also realise something strange. "Umm, where are our suitcases?” I turn to look at Ethan curious but then I also realise something off about him before he sets his eyes on me. That worried look I've always hated to see is expressed on his face and I give him an eye roll but he can't see it through my sunglasses. "What's with the sunglasses.” He questions and I slowly walk up to him. When I'm just inches away from him I look up into his eyes and smile. "It's for the sun.” I respond and he smile his usual sexy smile before pulling me into a kiss. When we pull away from the kiss he still holds me close to his chest then places a kiss on my forehead. "Are you okay?” He asks and I nod into his hug. When I back up from him a bit I see that nervousness I saw before he got all worried about me. "Are you okay?" I ask and he instantly chuckles but I can still see the nervousness. What happened for my mate to feel so nervous? "I'm good, just excited to finally take you home.” I chuckle a bit and he looks at me smiling. "Well I'm glad I get to finally see your pack.” I smile back and he places a kiss on my hand. I sense his nervous slip away and I smile to myself. "So where are our bags?” I ask again as he opens the door for me to walk out. "Uhh, they're on their way to the airport.” I crease my forehead at that but on second thought it's actually normal to get people to send your stuff to the airport for you, right? I just shrug it off and wait for Ethan who looks at the room one last time before closing the door and locking hands with me. I just know both of us are going to remember those many nights we snuggled each other to sleep. We submit the keys and take care of everything before we walk out of the building into the busy world. Ethan leads us towards a beautiful black limousine and curious enough I would have missed this if I wasn't paying much attention. The guy who opens the door for us bows in respect and I crease my forehead again before getting in and waiting for Ethan. The car starts moving and I turn to Ethan to see if he noticed what I saw but he looks into his phone all nervous and a bit worried. Where's all this coming from. Is he nervous because he's finally going to show me off to his pack and mother? Is it that they might not accept me? I ask myself those questions before turning to Ethan. I steal a glance at him before he catches me watching then smiles. "Why are you nervous?” I just hit the nail on the head then wait for his response. He smiles at me confuse and I sigh. "No more lies, remember? Total honesty, remember?” I move close to him and he laughs that I caught him red handed. "Yeah you're right. I am nervous.” He admits and I nod. "Is it because they won't like me?” I ask and he instantly holds my hand then sits to face me. "It's not that. Gosh no. Were you thinking that?” I slowly nod at him and he sighs pinching the bridge between his eyes. "I'm so sorry I let you think that. And trust me, that's not why I'm nervous.” "Then what is.” I try to look into his eyes but the sunglasses and no sun makes it almost impossible. "It's kinda complicated.” He says and the car suddenly comes to a stop. He exhales a big breath as the door opens to reveal a red carpet. Okay things are starting to get a bit too weird. "Let's go.” Ethan says before climbing out then holds out his hand for me. I take it and also climb out to see a nice private jet which looks too expensive to even stare at. I notice the word Artea written nicely and boldly on it. I think of asking Ethan what it means but we stop in front of a man who smiles at the both of us before bowing. He stands straight again then gives Ethan a big handshake and I stare on still confused. "It's nice to see you again, your Majesty.” I stare at the guards with straight faces wearing strange uniforms when the word your majesty catches my attention. "Are we ready?” Ethan asks the guy and he nods then gestures for us to climb aboard. I gape a bit at the both of them and Ethan turns to meet the look of surprise on my face. He smiles and holds my hand then leads us into the jet. Okay he have to address what just happened. "Did he just call you, your Majesty?” I ignore the beautiful interior of the jet and stare at Ethan.
