The next day arrives and I wake up to surprisingly find no Ethan by my side.
He must have gotten up early to prepare for today's tour of the capital.
Checking the time I scurry off to have my bath and some breakfast before looking for him.
When I come out of the bathroom I find the bed nicely laid again and breakfast for one at the dining area with a little note.
I grab the note and chew on a grape before reading it.
"Meet me downstairs when you're done.” I smile at the note then put it down to get dressed.
I put on some jeans and a nice looking fitting blouse before having my breakfast then applying my little makeup.
I grab my bag and my phone before rushing downstairs.
When I descend the stairs I look around for any sign of Ethan but that's when Michael, the Delta, waves at me from the entrance. I smile and walk over to him.
"Hi, Michael, right?"
"Yes, good morning Luna." He smiles then bows politely.
"Good morning." I smile back.
"Please your car is waiting outside." He says then stands aside for me to walk out first.
I nod and walk out to find five expensive similar looking black cars parked in front.
I spot someone familiar standing by the black car in the middle and I frown a bit.
"Luna." Lucas bows in respect when I get to him.
"Where's Ethan?" I ask the number one question on my mind.
"The alpha couldn't make it. He was called into an emergency family meeting.” I crease my forehead.
Well the word emergency sounds urgent enough. Also I get him bailing out and I don't mind doing this without him, though it would have been more fun with him.
"Okay, no problem.” I say more to myself.
"He asked that the Gamma and I step in for him. Is that okay with you, Luna?” I look at Michael then at Lucas who seems a bit nervous before nodding.
Lucas opens the door for me and I climb in.
Michael takes the car ahead of us and Lucas surprisingly sits with me.
Well this is going to be interesting.

Ethan's POV
Having Claire forgive me does not only make me happy but having the opportunity to cuddle her all night like before makes me the happiest.
I couldn't keep my hands off her and if not for the call from Trina I wonder if we would have gotten far this time.
Not to think of it but my self control is hanging on a thread now.
I don't know if it's the feeling of being home which is making my alpha genes more dominant or the the waiting is finally getting to me.
Either way I'm not going to let it make me push Claire into something she's not ready for.
I make sure everything is ready for the tour of the capital. I even ensure there are more guards on duty in case anything happens, which won't.
I also sent her a note to meet me downstairs when she's done with everything and I discuss some last minute issues with Michael and Lucas as I make my way to the car before Claire comes down.
I see four cars all parked outside just like I instructed waiting for the tour.
Suddenly my phone rings with a call from Maa and I quickly pick up.
"Ethan. I hope I caught you on time.” I crease my forehead.
"What do you mean?”
"You're needed, urgently. There's going to be a family meeting, in fifteen minutes.”
I instantly sigh then pinch my brows.
"Can't it be postponed?" The guys look at me and they catch the sense that something is up.
"You know it can't, hurry son." At that she ends the call and I clench my fist annoyed.
"Meeting?” Lucas guesses right and I nod at him.
"Can you two step in for me?" I plead and Michael instantly nods.
"Sure." He adds.
I turn to Lucas who seems caught up in his mind.
"Luke." I look at him curiously as he snaps out of his trance.
"Sure, we'll keep her safe." He says and I smile.
"I trust you two, and please add one more car and more guards." I instruct them before going to join my mother in the conference room.
"Finally, you're here." Maa sighs relieved when I walk into the room.
"Where are they?" I look around the empty room and seats.
She gestures towards the big screen and I roll my eyes.
Of course, another pointless zoom meeting.
I wonder what they want now?
