Arthur's POV
I look over the landscape far into the hunted woods.
People are already up and about doing their daily routine as I've decided to skip breakfast again.
Today the whole of Artea is celebrating founder's day.
My aunt is out as usual giving speeches and encouraging the celebration of the holiday like it means something to her.
Why would a vampire leave her tribe and settle down to lead a pack of werewolves.
The very thing they detest.
They say it's because of love, I guess I'll never understand.
Love makes people weak. That's what I've seen so far and nothing can change my perspective of it.
I watch the royal cars pull up in front of the castle and I check my time.
It's late afternoon and she's back from her speeches and royal duties for the day.
The door is opened for them and I watch as my aunt comes out first followed by the foreigner.
That's what I'm going to think of her until I figure out she's not a threat.
There's just something about her that I feel she's hiding, that somehow also makes me drawn to her too.
I continue to stare at them below most especially her until she suddenly looks up and meets my eyes.
It's as if she could sense I'm watching her.
I don't break eye contact and I continue to stare at her.
She also looks up at me and I read the expression on her face.
I'm creeping her out.
I chuckle at her expression and she looks at me both annoyed and confused before she is pulled away into the castle.
I hate the fact that she makes me smile but I can't help it.
I've never been with a woman who shows me zero interest and appears to hate my guts.
Maybe that's why I'm drawn to her. She's different from what I've seen.
Her mystery too is alluring.
I like getting facial expressions from her that no woman gives me. It's funny and makes her look more beautiful too.
What the hell is happening to me?
Steph is right, I'm too soft to her.
I let out a deep breath then clench my fists and jaws letting myself go back to normal.
No woman, affects my thinking capacity like that.
I won't let her.

I move downstairs and I meet my aunt talking with the chamberlain who manages the castle.
She's probably preparing the place for the family tradition that will occur tonight.
It's this thing where we search the castle for the great egg which is similar to the Faberge egg and belonged to the founder of Artea.
We walk in pairs and try to find the egg within an hour with a clue in riddle or poetry form that will be given to us.
The group that finds the egg gets the honor of asking the queen for anything at all and she must oblige to their request provided it's not a nuisance to the country.
They also get to hide the egg and give the clue for the next founder's day.
It doesn't sound fun at all, does it?
It's pretty lame if you ask me but it's a family tradition and since I'm here I have no choice but to participate.
"Welcome back aunty." I walk up to her and she nods at me.
"I hope you'll show up for founder's night?" She asks and I nod.
"It's not like I can miss it." I fake a smile before changing directions and heading to my room.
I exhale hard and take off my shirt to feel at ease when I enter my room.
I walk over to the glass window and look outside to see the sun getting ready to set.
I run my hand through my hair and turn back to my room only to be startled by a figure in front of me.
"S**t Stephanie!" I let out a big breath of relief as she chuckles at my expression.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I quickly walk over to the door and lock it.
"I came to give you a message." She smiles seductively whilst walking over to me with my back against the door.
"Couldn't it wait? I don't like you being in my room." She smiles and leans in closer to me kissing me lustfully on the lips.
I quickly push her back and walk away from her.
She chuckles annoyed at my action.
"What the f**k do you want?" I speak clearly telling her to say what she has to say and get the hell out.
"What's with the attitude Arthur, we are alone." She gestures looking around my room and walking towards me again.
She runs her down my chest to my six packs before looking lustfully into me eyes.
I quickly grip her wrist hard and look her in the eyes angrily.
"I told you my room is off limits. You don't come to me, I come to you." I say through clenched teeth before pushing her back.
She massages her wrist then chuckles.
"I don't know what has gotten into you lately, but I hope you figure it out." She says trying to hide the sorrow in her voice.
"Anyway I came to tell you I want to pair up again for tonight and that'll be running late, so if you could just wait a bit." She says and I roll my eyes with my back facing her.
Honestly what is with me and ending up with clingy girls.
"I don't run the occasion, but I'll see what I can do." I say only to get her to leave my room.
Suddenly she hugs me from behind and I restrain myself from having to rip her arms off me.
"I'll see you tonight." She says before walking away and I don't turn around until I hear the door open and close.
I run my hand through my hair frustrated and hope no one sees her coming out of my room.
What the hell is wrong with her lately? She's becoming too clingy and I hate it.
I thought she would be okay with just f*****g but it seems she's getting attached.
Of course she is. She never really had anyone growing up so she probably thinks this is something.
I need to remind her of her place.

Evening arrives and I have to go downstairs for the tradition.
I dress casually in a simple top and sweatpants before heading downstairs to join the others.
I arrive to meet my aunt and the others waiting for whatever it is they are waiting for.
Lydia and Logan were the ones who found the egg the other time so they are exempted from the event leaving Michael and Lucas who seem paired up.
It's supposed to be a family tradition but due to circumstances high ranking officials like them are allowed to join.
"Let's start the tradition." My aunt says and every one nods except the foreigner.
"Sorry your majesty, but can we wait a little bit. Ethan hasn't arrived yet." She says looking a bit worried and clearly showing that she wants to pair with him.
"Stephanie too is not here." The beta, Logan says and they look around.
"I'm sorry Claire, I can't keep tradition waiting any longer." My aunt apologizes sincerely.
"So then who should she pair with?" Lydia asks and everyone's attention drifts to me.
It's clear on their faces that they don't want her to pair up with me.
My aunt looks at the others trying to see if she can change the other pair so I'll end up with someone else but it's obvious no one wants to change partners and pair up with me.
"Sure. I'll pair up with Claire." This is the first time I've said her name out loud and I like how it sounds on my lips.
