Chapter 20

1406 Words
I looked back and forth between Malcolm and Ivan and I felt the bond that connected us humming like a live wire. Before I could say anything to ease the awkwardness and heat between us, Malcolm extended his hand to me with a gleam in his eyes that spoke of mischief and intent. His smile was teasing, but there was a challenge there too–a silent invitation. “Would you do me the honor of a dance, sweet Evelette?” His voice was smooth, yet I noticed a slight undercurrent of something more primal. He didn’t even wait for me to answer before he guided me toward the center of the dance floor. Those who noticed what was going on between myself and the princes stopped dancing and parted to make space for us. As I stepped on the dance floor, I noticed Luna Mora and Alpha James staring agape at us. Luna Mora’s mouth was wide open as Alpha James whispered something into her ear. When we stepped onto the dance floor, I suddenly became anxious. “I actually don’t know how to dance to this type of music.” I said as I noted the faster, more up beat classical music started to play. “Don’t worry. I do. All you have to do is follow my lead.” Malcolm said in a whisper, his breath gently gliding over my ear. In a moment, we were moving. Malcolm never took his eyes off of me and I was completely incapable of removing mine from him. He pulled me close to him for a beat and his lips nearly grazed mine. In another instant, he swung me out and twirled me back into him where my back was touching his front. I turned my head to maintain eye contact and I felt the hitch of his breath as I breathed into him. I bit my lip as I looked at him and I heard a deep guttural growl emanate from within his chest. He thrusted me from him yet again, but this time when he brought me closer, I was facing him. I could feel the hammering of his heart as we danced to the music around the floor. Suddenly I felt another presence behind me. I looked over my shoulder and saw that Ivan had joined the dance. I found myself caught between the two brothers. Their bodies were so close that I could feel the heat radiating from them and then pulse into me. I felt Ivan’s hand slip over my hips, his fingers splayed against the curve where hips met waist. He gave my hips a gentle squeeze and my breath caught in my throat. The three of us formed a tangled knot of energy and tension that seemed ready to explode. The music pulsed through me and guided my movements as I let myself be drawn into the rhythm between Malcolm and Ivan. For the beginning of this next song, we were swaying with the music. I felt Ivan come closer as he put his mouth directly next to my ear. “You smell delicious. You’re lucky people are watching.” He said in a low rumble. He moved one roaming hand up my waist and onto my shoulder, half touching my neck, and gave me a good squeeze. I felt my blood pressure rising and the pressure of his hand sent tremors through my body. Then I looked up at Malcolm, who had a mischievous glint in his eyes. He pulled me closer, effectively pulling me slightly away from Ivan, and guided my hand to bring me with him in a bold, sweeping motion. My dress flared around me as I found myself seamlessly transitioning into Ivan’s arms. His grip was more commanding and his hand slid to rest just beneath my shoulder blade. My body instinctively responded to him and my back arched slightly as he pulled me closer. From behind me, I felt Malcolm smoothly set himself into position. He grabbed the same hand Ivan was holding and his other hand rested on top of my hip. Ivan was leading the dance from in front of me and Malcolm was feeling the rhythm from behind me. Our bodies moved in perfect sync as we circled the dance floor. After another twirl from Ivan, Malcolm was at my front again in an instant and his hand slipped to the small of my back as he took the lead. With a quick, sharp step, he pivoted me away from Ivan. My body twisted gracefully several times only for me to be caught once more by Ivan’s strong hands. They gently spun me back and forth like a shared secret and the heat between us mounted with each step and each turn. This dance wasn’t like any other. It was a sultry, almost primal exchange. It was intimate and intense. It was the perfect kind of foreplay. Their hands never left my body for long. I felt them slide over my waist, up my hips, down the curve of my spine. Every touch was a spark that ignited something deep within me. Malcolm’s eyes burned with a playful, smoldering heat as he leaned in close, “You move like you were made for this,” he whispered, his voice was low and full of promise. Before I could reply, Ivan spun me out of Malcolm’s grasp and back into his own. His eyes locked onto mine that raised the hair on my neck. His movements were precise and almost commanding. I could feel the strength in his arms and the restrained power in his steps. “You have surprised me, Evelette.” he murmured as his lips curved into a slow, wicked smile. I couldn’t help but smile back as my energy rose to meet theirs. This was clearly more than a dance–it felt like a game of control and seduction. And I wasn’t going to back down or pretend that I was shy when I had two men practically worshiping me. With a sharp turn, I twisted my body between them and I stepped out of Ivan’s grasp as I let Malcolm guide me in a swift, spinning motion. My heart pounded and my skin tingled where they touched me. I was surrounded by their scents–woodsy and warm vanilla, a heady mix that filled every sense and made my wolf stir restlessly within me. Selene was practically howling with excitement and I could feel her urging me to lean into the moment, to let go and revel in the heat of it all. My footwork became bolder and my steps quicker as I matched their intensity and grace. Malcolm’s hand slid up my arm and his fingers brushed my neck in a way that sent electricity coursing through me. He was watching me closely, his eyes never left my own. Ivan’s grip tightened around my waist from behind and pulled me back against his chest. I could feel the steady beat of his heart against my spine as he leaned in closer, his lips hovering just above my ear. “You’re quite the temptation,” he whispered, his voice rough with desire. I exhaled slowly and let myself melt into the rhythm of the dance. I gave into my wolf’s desire when I finally replied. “I could say the same about you.” I said as I willed my voice to be steady despite the wild flutter of my heart. Malcolm moved in then. His arms slipped around my waist as he finally guided me away from Ivan once more. The music swelled and reached a fever pitch. We danced with a kind of reckless abandon that made the ball blur around me. I was only aware of their bodies pressed against mine and the feeling that every movement was a statement, a claim, or a challenge. As the music reached its crescendo, the dance came to a sudden stop. I found myself in the center of the dance floor and my chest was rising and falling drastically with each breath. Malcolm was in front of me and Ivan was pressed up against my back. I twisted out of the interesting embrace to look at both of them. Their eyes were locked on me and were filled with a fire that left no room for doubt. Whatever this was, it was only the beginning.
