"Are you and Art going out again today, Alex?" I was about to go out when mom suddenly called me. I thought she was in her room resting so I didn't want to disturb her. I instructed the maid to tell mom that I had left in case she woke up and looked for me.
"You're awake, Mom. I thought you were sleeping in your room so I didn't bother you," I said to Mom when I faced her.
"I was in my room and was going to sleep but I couldn't sleep so I just went out," Mom answered with sadness in her voice. She sat down on the sofa as if lethargic. I couldn't bear to leave without knowing what was bothering her so I approached her.
