Ryan Disappears Claire tried calling Ryan. Again. And again. No answer. Her stomach twisted. Where was he? The last thing he sent her was that message—the warning about Ethan. And then? Silence. It had been two days. Two days since she last saw him. Two days since she woke up in Ethan’s bed. Two days since she started seeing things. And now, Ryan was just… gone. Claire stared at her phone, her pulse racing. What if something happened to him? What if Ethan— No. She shook her head. Ethan wouldn’t hurt him. Would he? A cold chill crept up her spine. Because suddenly? She wasn’t sure anymore. Parents' Intervention—A Sudden Trip “Claire.” She flinched at the sound of her mother’s voice. She looked up from her untouched coffee. Her parents were sitting across from her at the café, their expressions tight with concern. “We need to talk,” her father said. Claire’s stomach sank. This was bad. “What’s going on?” she asked, forcing her voice to stay calm. Her mother hesitated. “It’s about your behavior.” Claire’s heart skipped. “What?” Her father sighed. “Sweetheart, you’ve changed. You don’t return calls. You don’t talk to Ryan anymore. And now, we hear you’re… involved with Ethan Lancaster?” Her blood froze. How did they— Her mother leaned forward. “Ryan’s parents called us.” Claire’s pulse thundered. “They said he’s missing,” her mother continued. “And that before he disappeared, he was worried about you. He said you were being manipulated.” Claire felt the air leave her lungs. Her hands trembled under the table. “I’m fine,” she whispered. Her father’s expression darkened. “No. You’re not.” Her mother took a deep breath. “Which is why we’ve decided—you’re coming home.” Claire’s stomach dropped. “What?” Her father nodded. “Pack your things. We’re leaving tonight.” Claire’s vision blurred. No. No, no, no. She couldn’t leave. She couldn’t leave Ethan. But maybe… Maybe that was the smartest thing to do. Ethan’s Rage—She’s Not Leaving That night, Claire packed her suitcase. Her hands were shaking. She wasn’t even sure if she was making the right choice. But deep down, she knew—something was wrong with her life. With Ethan. With everything. She needed space. She needed time to think. She zipped up her bag— And jumped when she saw Ethan standing in the doorway. His face was unreadable. But his eyes? They were dangerous. “You’re leaving?” he said quietly. Claire’s throat tightened. She had to lie. Just this once. “I just need some time,” she whispered. Ethan didn’t move. For a long, suffocating moment, he just stared at her. Then—he smiled. Soft. Understanding. Wrong. “Of course,” he murmured, stepping closer. “If you need time… take it.” Claire exhaled in relief. Maybe—just maybe— He wasn’t going to fight her on this. Then—everything changed. Ethan leaned in, his lips brushing her ear. And in the softest, most terrifying voice, he whispered: "But you won’t leave, Claire." She froze. His hands slid around her waist. Slow. Possessive. “You don’t want to go,” he whispered against her skin. Claire’s breath hitched. Her body betrayed her. Because she didn’t pull away. Ethan smirked. “See?” he murmured. “You already belong to me.” Claire’s stomach twisted. She knew she should fight. But when Ethan’s lips met hers—she didn’t. She let him pull her under. Because part of her was still his. Even though she didn’t want to be. The Glitch—A Fractured Reality That night, Claire had a new dream. But this time? It wasn’t a dream. It was a memory. She was standing in front of a hospital bed. A machine was beeping. Her own voice was shaking. "Ethan, please wake up." Her heart stopped. Because the Ethan in the hospital bed? He was older. Not the Ethan she knew now. Her mind screamed. What was this? Where was this? Then— A voice behind her. "You shouldn’t be seeing this yet." Claire spun around— And came face to face with Ryan. Her breath hitched. His eyes were dark. Unfamiliar. And then—the world shattered. Claire Wakes Up—And Everything Has Changed Claire gasped awake. Her heart was racing. Her sheets were drenched in sweat. She clutched her head. What was that? What the hell was that? She turned—and found Ethan watching her. Sitting in the chair across from her bed. His expression calm. But his eyes? They knew. “Bad dream?” he asked softly. Claire’s blood ran cold. Because suddenly, she wasn’t sure this was a dream at all. And Ethan? He was hiding something. Something huge. Something that might change everything. (To Be Continued…)
