Episode 30: The Final Battle for Claire

667 Words
Ryan Refuses to Lose Her Ryan held onto Claire’s hands. Her body was still. Her breathing shallow. But her fingers? Her fingers trembled in his grip. A sign. A flicker of life. She was still in there. Somewhere. Ryan’s voice was rough. "Claire, I know you’re still here." Nothing. He squeezed her hands tighter. "You don’t belong to him." A faint twitch. A slight movement. Ryan’s breath shook. He was getting through. But then— A slow, low laugh. Ethan’s voice. Coming from Claire’s lips. "You’re too late, Ryan." Ryan’s chest tightened. Because when Claire looked up at him… Her eyes were black. Empty. And the girl he loved? She wasn’t there anymore. Inside Her Mind—The Prison She Built Herself Claire stood in darkness. Ethan’s arms wrapped around her waist. His presence warm. Comforting. "Stay with me, sweetheart." His voice was soft. Loving. And Claire? Claire wanted to. She was so tired of fighting. So tired of choosing. Here, with Ethan, she didn’t have to think. Didn’t have to hurt. Didn’t have to lose. She could just be his. Forever. Her lips parted. To say yes. To say I’m yours. But then— A c***k in the darkness. A whisper of something else. Ryan. His voice shaking. "Claire, don’t let him win." Her chest ached. Because wasn’t it easier to stay? Wasn’t it easier to give up? Ethan’s lips brushed against her ear. "Forget him, Claire," he murmured. "Forget everything else." Her hands trembled. Because she was so close. So close to losing herself completely. And maybe— Maybe she wanted to. Ryan’s Desperation—And the Final Attempt to Bring Her Back Ryan’s hands shook. Claire was slipping. Ethan’s hold on her was too strong. Too deep. If Ryan didn’t do something now… She would be gone forever. His voice broke. "Claire, please," he whispered. His hands cupped her face. "You’re stronger than this." She didn’t move. Didn’t blink. Ethan—**inside her—**just smirked. "She doesn’t want to come back, Ryan." Ryan’s stomach dropped. He could feel her slipping away. Could feel Ethan consuming her. So he did the only thing he could. He kissed her. The Kiss That Shatters the Illusion Inside her mind— Claire gasped. Because suddenly— Ethan’s world cracked. A sharp, blinding light. Ethan’s grip on her tightened. "No." Claire’s chest ached. Because for the first time— For the first time, she felt Ryan’s warmth again. Felt his love. And it wasn’t control. It wasn’t obsession. It was real. Ethan’s voice turned sharp. "Claire, don’t!" But her fingers curled into fists. Her eyes snapped open. And for the first time— She fought back. "No." Ethan’s grip shook. Claire pushed against his chest. And suddenly— The darkness collapsed. And Ethan? Ethan was ripped away from her. Ryan Feels Her Return Ryan’s heart pounded. Claire’s body jerked in his arms. A soft gasp escaped her lips. Her fingers clawed at his shirt. Her breathing was ragged. And then— Then, she whispered his name. "Ryan…" His chest tightened. Because it wasn’t Ethan’s voice anymore. It wasn’t empty. It was hers. Ryan’s voice broke. "Claire?" Her eyes fluttered open. And this time— This time, they weren’t black. They weren’t empty. They were hers again. And Ethan? Ethan was gone. The Aftermath—And the Cost of Her Freedom Claire sat up slowly. Her body felt weak. Her mind felt numb. Ryan sat beside her, his hands still shaking. "Are you okay?" he whispered. Claire’s throat tightened. Because wasn’t that the problem? She didn’t know. She had spent so long inside Ethan’s grip… That now, without him… She felt empty. Her fingers curled into the bedsheets. Ethan was gone. For real this time. She had fought him. She had won. And yet— Tears burned her eyes. Because some dark, broken part of her still missed him. Still craved him. Still wondered if maybe— Just maybe— She had made the wrong choice. (To Be Continued…)
