CHAPTER THREE— FALLING FOR A STRANGER

1133 Words
Breakfast ended in a quiet mood. I'm speechless and felt a bit embarrassed. What does he take me for? Does he feel like he can have anyone he wants? Well, not me. "Ready to go?" he asked. Pulling me out of my thoughts, I nodded. Still unable to find my voice. I grabbed my bag, he picked up his jacket and headed to the door. "After you, Mia," he murmurs, opening the door for me. We walk in silence down the corridor towards the elevator. The elevator arrived and we stepped in. We're alone. Suddenly, the atmosphere between us changes, it felt like an electric charge. My heart beat increased. His head turned towards me, his eyes looked dangerous. I bite my lips. He moves at me, pushing me against the wall of the elevator. He has got both of my hands in one of his, in a dominant grip, and he’s pinning me to the wall using his hips. His lips are on mine, I moan into his mouth. His tongue exploring my mouth, this is fire. My tongue timidly strokes his and joins his in slow motion. He brings his hand up to grab my chin and hold me in place. I’m helpless, my hands pinned, my face held and his hips restraining me. I feel his erection against my belly. Oh, my… he wants me, he really wants me now, in the elevator? The elevator stops, the door opens, and he pushes me in the blink of an eye, leaving me hanging. Two men in suits walked in smiling at us like they already knew what the tension meant. My heart pounding like a drum in my chest. Finally, we got out the elevator, he opened the passenger seat of his Rolls-Royce and I climbed in. I touched my lips, swollen from his kiss. It’s definitely not a dream. He drove quietly, not mentioning the passion that exploded in the elevator. We got to my apartment, he walked me to the doorway. He kissed my lips again. “I really don’t know what you’re doing to me,” he said calmly. “I have to go now, take care of yourself.” I nod. How did I become so weak to someone I just met? I got in and sat on the couch for hours. I had just realized I didn’t know anything about this man, yet my heart beat at the sound of his voice, my body betrayed me whenever he comes close. Oh my! I didn’t ask for his name, how was he able to know my address? I didn’t give it to him. Who is this man? Will I get to see him again? **** I walked through the building’s door into the lobby at 8:50. I wanted to make the best impression on my first day of work—Lucas had always hated me working, saying he could afford anything I wanted. But a new life starts now. I wore a plain white shirt that fit my shoulders well, paired with a black skirt and small heels. I showed my ID to the security guards. “Hi Esther,” I greeted the receptionist, admiring her colored blouse. "Mia, hi. Philip is not here yet," but you do know where you’re going right? " Philip is said to be the acting boss since the CEO is out of the country for some business. “Yeah I do,” I replied with a smile. I walked down the hallway to the left of the reception desk. At the end, I turned and reached a big open area separated into small workspaces. One was mine and I went straight into it. “Good morning, Miss Parker.” I stood up to face my boss. “Good morning, Mr Philip.” He seemed to be a nice guy. I really hope so because life has been so unfair to me lately. I thought to myself. Work went on really well, the rest of the day passed quickly. Philip was hardworking, he took out time to explain some things I find difficult and still attended different meetings. I got a call at 4:50. "Blackwell Enterprises, Mia Paker speaking " “Mia, it’s mom. What time are you closing? We have to celebrate.” My mom speaks excitedly over the phone. My parents had been my biggest support and took out time to celebrate my little wins. "I’m done for the day, I’m coming home," I said, ending the call. I shut down my computer, cleared up my desk. When I reached the elevator, I stood there, my focus on my phone, scrolling through the internet. The elevator's soft “peep” called back my attention. The doors open, I look up, my eyes meeting the unexpected. He was there. Mr Hot and Dangerous, leaning against the elevator wall, his eyes looking into mine. My heart skipped. He adjusted from the elevator wall, slow and confident, a smile on his face. The air grew heavy between us, everything was fading away. Heat rushed to my cheeks. No one should be allowed to look that good. The doors began to close. He took an easy step forward and pressed a button to hold them open. “Come on in, Mia.” The sound of his voice broke me out of my thoughts. He still remembers my name. Holyfuck I stepped into the elevator. "Thank you," I managed to mutter. The door closed, and the elevator began moving downward. I could feel his breath even though he was not standing very close to me. He has this s****l magnet that keeps me restless. I couldn’t control my heart beat. What is wrong with me? “Did you enjoy your first day?” he asked, startling me. His voice flowed over me in a seductive manner. How did he know it was my first day? “Yes, I did,” I answered calmly. “How was yours?” I felt him staring at me, but I tried not to pay attention, my heart was racing in my chest, butterflies in my stomach. Why does he have this effect on me? “Well, it’s not my first, but it is great and more interesting now,” he replied with a bit of amusement. I nodded and gave a smile. I have no idea what that was supposed to mean. The elevator stopped on the twelfth floor and a group of three got in. “Good day, Mr Blackwell.” They greeted him. I was thrown off balance, Mr Blackwell? As in Ethan Blackwell, wealthy entrepreneur and the CEO of Blackwell Enterprises Holdings Inc. Holy Cow! What does this mean? I kissed my boss. This has to be a dream. What should I do? Oh my god!
