Frozen Light When dawn broke, Henry was once again staring at Teddy. Teddy stared back into Henry's eyes and saw a luminous white light. He held Henry's gaze for what seemed like forever; neither blinked, until forever was broken by Henry again bolting over Teddy's head. Teddy was just quick enough to see Henry's fluffy tail sail through the slightly open door. Teddy lay back down, his mind empty. Not a single thought seemed to be anywhere in sight. He closed his eyes and drifted off to a deep, silent space. Teddy woke again with the Sun shining through his bedroom window, and a meadowlark's singing carried on the breeze. He knew his parents had left earlier to go to a meeting because his mom had told him the night before. It still felt odd to wake up and have no one else in the house.
