3 Bryce “Well, it doesn’t look like anyone’s been back here,” said Bryce, stepping over two zombies lying on Cassie’s bloodstained driveway. It was hot and the stench from the fly-infested bodies lying around was enough to make him gag. It was nothing, however, compared to the restless angst knotted in the pit of his stomach. He’d driven like a madman trying to catch up to her, hoping that they’d somehow cross paths before reaching Minnesota. But the road back home had been pretty uneventful and there’d been no sign of anyone else still breathing.
