Paul, feeling a sense of urgency, attempted to reach Douglas by phone, but his efforts proved futile as Douglas did not answer. Considering the possibility that Douglas might be at home with Dianna, Paul promptly decided to call her, hoping to find some clarity regarding Douglas's whereabouts.

Upon dialing Dianna’s number, she promptly answered, "Hello Paul," her tone revealing both familiarity and concern. Paul, sensing an opportunity to gather information, inquired whether Douglas had mentioned his plans. Dianna confirmed, stating that Douglas had indeed visited her the previous night, but regrettably departed shortly thereafter, leaving Paul with more questions than answers.

Paul, why did you not come yesterday? "I apologize, Dianna, but my wife requested my company during a shopping trip to the mall, and I felt it was important to accommodate her wishes to avoid any discord in our relationship." Dianna responded amicably, understanding his predicament. Paul then concluded the conversation by expressing his intention to visit Douglas at his condominium, determined to uncover the reason behind Douglas's absence from work.

Meanwhile, Mark wished to engage in a conversation with Catherine, with the intent of conveying a clear and respectful message. Meanwhile, Mark made the decision to visit Catherine's residence in order to seek her company and perhaps engage in a meaningful conversation. Upon arriving at Catherine's house, he was greeted not by Catherine herself, but rather by her mother, who was the sole occupant of the domicile at that moment.

"Hello, Aunty," Mark said politely, extending a friendly smile as he entered the house. Upon hearing his cheerful greeting, Catherine's mother warmly welcomed him in, recognizing Mark as a respectable young man and an acquaintance of her daughter.

Mark, eager to speak with Catherine, expressed his desire to communicate with her directly. “I would like to talk to her if possible,” he remarked, his voice tinged with concern. However, Catherine's mother had to gently inform him, “I'm sorry, Mark, Catherine is no longer here, as we have taken her to her new apartment. She made the decision to continue her studies elsewhere.”

Mark was taken aback momentarily, the revelation hitting him harder than he expected. He had not anticipated such a sudden change in Catherine's life circumstances, and it left him momentarily speechless. “I think her decision was sudden, Aunty?” he murmured, a sense of disbelief stretching across his features. However, he quickly composed himself, recognizing the importance of education in one’s life. “Nonetheless, that is a commendable decision. It is undoubtedly for her own good, and I wish her the best in her academic pursuits.”

Attempting to maintain the conversation, Mark then inquired of Catherine’s mother. “Aunty, could you provide me with her address? I would very much like to visit her on another occasion when it is convenient for her,” he said earnestly.

“Of course, Mark. I understand how important it is for you to keep in touch,” Catherine's mother replied, her expression softening with understanding, both for her daughter’s commitments and for the young man’s friendship with Catherine.

And with that understanding, she then proceeded to take a pen and a sheet of paper, whereupon she carefully inscribed the address of Catherine's new apartment, with the intent of facilitating communication between them. “Here it is,” she said, handing the note to Mark with a smile. “You are always welcome to visit her when she is available. Just give her a call first to ensure she's free. She will be happy to see you.”

Gratefully accepting the piece of paper containing the address, Mark felt a mixture of hope and concern.
