The next day came and I woke up early to try and make something for Dave. I just wanted to do something special for him. Mrs. Uwem had left early this morning to buy goods for her store so it was just me and Dave home. Sam had left too.
I don’t know what woke Dave up but I’m sure it was the smell of burning food. “what the heck is going on here?” Dave asked bewildered as he dashed into the kitchen. He coughed a bit on getting to me. A sizzling sound filled the air and so did the smoke choking the two of us.
