He’s a little hood from Philly,” Kelly explained. Kelly and Costello were driving to Albany to collect full payment for the whiskey delivered to the Whitehall garage earlier in the day. The two men were using Kelly’s Model T truck because, in addition to collecting payment from the buyer, Kelly was making a delivery. The buyer, Jack “Legs” Diamond, had already taken out a contract on Kelly. Zho felt guilty that he had never disclosed this information. If he had, Kelly would have also learned that, in fact, it was the “old” Costello who had accepted the contract. Zho decided that there was no way he could disclose this to Kelly
