Chapter Thirty-Five The CabinGranville, New York August 26, 1926 The convoy carrying Kelly and his men drove straight home from Sonyea. When they reached Granville, they split up. Six men, including Kelly and Costello, drove to the Kelly home to be certain that Mary wasn’t still there. Once it was confirmed that the house was empty, Billow was left in charge of the men loading and transporting Kelly’s “personal supply” to the clearing. Then Kelly rejoined Costello, Cavell, and Nora in the armored car, and the four drove off. Just over the Vermont border, Kelly turned left onto Bullfrog Hollow Road.
