Chapter 7 – Duel
Jana switches on the screen in their living room and selects one of the recordings saved in it. ‘I want you to watch this fight with me, but before we do, I want you to understand the background and the motivation for the fight. I want you to notice how this influences the outcome of the fight and I want you to learn the most important lesson of fighting, which we will discuss after the fight.’
Jana gives Eva a slight nod to establish whether she understands. Eva nods back. She feels slightly uneasy, until now Jana was mostly lots of fun. However, she was a bit serious earlier when she interrogated Eva about her admission to the academy. Now Jana shows a very serious, almost businesslike side of herself. Being satisfied that she has Eva’s full attention, Jana carries on.
