“Mom, please don't say that at all, if my son looked like that, I would obviously had disowned him,” Maria bashed out immediately, rolling her eyes. “That’s so weird to even think about,” she continued shaking her head in disagreement.
“You must have me so much because, how can you take such a joke too serious,” Vincent backfired at her looking at her and then turning to Morris. Just then, his phone buzzed and looking at the screen, he excused himself handing Morris over to her grandma who was sitting close to him. He walked out staring steadily at Marie.
“He is such a jerk,” Marie said to herself adjusting her seat to get close to Morris and her Mom. “You are already fed up, ur stomach is so big,” she teased her son smiling. Her Joy is over complete whenever she sees her son happy and filled.
Morris was grinning from mouth to nose, “I didn't say thank you to uncle,” Morris said pouting his mouth out.
“Oh, don't worry I will thank him for you,” she replied, just wanting to make him stop talking about the man he doesn't want to think about. “He is being so nice and caring all of a sudden, maybe it's just because of Morris,” she was lost in thoughts. “Years ago, he had always been so full of himself, never accepting that he could be wrong, now he is here pretending like nothing ever happened, he can't eat his cake and have it back, he will never be a part of her and her son's life, a promise she had fought to keep,” she thought to herself as tears pilled up her eyes.
She was careful not to draw the attention of her mom and son. She quickly stood up and walked around like she was admiring the room.
“Oh please ma'am, I have to hurry, work called,” Vincent said to Mrs Lawrence, as he rushed into the dining room to pick up his laptop bag. “Hey, little man, uncle will be back soon okay,” he said as he turned towards Morris, moving his eyes to Marie who avoided his gaze immediately.
Vincent walked out of the room, and Marie excused herself to do something leaving Morris and grandma alone.
“Do you think mummy and Uncle Vincent are fighting,” Morris asked his grandma gently.
Mrs Lawrence smiled at the little boys’ word's. “ No baby, they are adults and Adults don't fight,” she replied hesitantly, pinching his cheeks softly.

Three days after, Marie and his son, stepped out a bit from the environment to see the city around, on an evening. They passed by a children's playground and stopped a bit, “mummy, this,” Morris said pointing at a chocolate ice cream stand.
“You want that, no baby it might not be good for ur health,” she replied trying to take his mind off anything expenses. “Let's go play that,” she said pointing at the wheels.
Morris who had a sad face after her mom refused to buy him the ice cream still happily went to take the wheels with her.
After a while her phone buzzed and she shifted a bit to answer. On returning back, she couldn't find him on the wheels anymore, her heart skipped. She looked around for him but there no traces. She asked the people around but no one seems to give a valid answer, she teared up immediately. The thought of having something bad happen to his baby is just the same as letting all hell lose.
Just after few seconds of searching for him around, he sighted him holding hands with a Man at the chocolate ice cream joint. She looked closely and it was him, her anger subsided but still manage to triple. She became furious as she walked towards them.
Morris saw her immediately and hid behind Vincent's back, “why did you leave the wheels without telling me,” she asked glaring at him without even looking at Vincent. Seeing he was already hiding in his back, she calmed down a bit and tried to sound sweet to him.
“Okay, fine I won't touch you, just come out honey.” She said to him and he came out slowly to towards her.
“Have I become so invincible that you can't even say hi,” he said sharply before Morris got to her.
“Does it boost ur immune system,” she backed at him and left hurriedly with Morris while he followed them behind. He was lost in thoughts that he didn't see when she stopped and be bumped on her from behind.
“Can you please let me be, stop acting like you care, for the sake of family just stay in ur lane and mind ur business in peace,” she shouted widening her eyes. She reduced it when she noticed Morris was already staring at her questionably and attention had been drawn to them.
“Can we talk for a bit without Morris,” Vincent said almost begging. “No, No Vincent, there is absolutely nothing for us to talk about, so please leave,” she replied angrily through a clenched jaw.
“Would you want me to talk publicly here, or obey in peace, cause I don't mind shouting just like you did just now,” he backfired, not allowing her to win at all times.
Marie glared at him for a while, knowing he was going to spit trash in front of her and she wouldn't want Morris to be involved in that kind of stuff. “Just five minutes and am outta here,” she said and hissed.
They moved towards the road side to avoid ears, “why are you being so mean to me, afterall you were the one who left without telling anyone,” Vincent said tucking his hands in his pockets.
“Oh really, whether am mean or not , it is non of ur business, just leave me alone and leave my businesses alone too,” she shoot at him.
Before she could finish, a fast moving car was already coming towards them, she twisted her leg as she tried to dodge it and fell into Vincent's arms. She jumped off him immediately like she fell on thorns, as she glared at him with a deadly stare.
Just then a message popped on her phone, “you are Lucky today,” it read and she turned towards the car direction.
