“Marie's baby Daddy?!” Vincent's eyes widened at the message, he lowered his face at once, folding both hands while he leaned on wall.
He checked the caller identity but it was a private number. “What if he comes to reclaim his woman and son? This piece of information is not good at all. I need to trace the sender,” he mumbled through clenched jaw, shaking his head in disagreement.
Marie reached her room, breathing heavily. Her short moment with Vincent had made her heart race so fast and her stomach twist. She picked up her phone and dialed Marbel's line, it's been long they spoke and seen each other.
“Hey, Girl, how did you know that I was about calling you?” Marbel chuckled from the other end of the call. “Girl! Did you disappear, it's been like ages?” She screamed through the phone.
Marie smiled, “Easy! My ears are vibrating from ur scream,” she said jokingly and they both laughed. “Girl, I've been here, you are clearly the one who has forgotten me though. Since you got your Job, you forgot your friend,” Marie teased her and she laughed more.
“Honey, u know I can't do that, you are my best girl till forever, I can't forget you though. Anyways, work had really been hectic, I think your rival is pouring out all her aggressions on me through work. Haven't breathed since the whole week and her secretary is not helping at all. That one is a confirmed b***h,” Marbel narrated as she exhaled loudly and heavily.
Marie could feel her pain from the sound of her voice, “I'm so sorry girl! They both are real bitches, but I know you match their energy from all angles,” she said smiling, Marbel bursted out laughing. “But, I'm serious girl! I know what you can do, especially to that her asshole secretary,” Marie blurted out, snapping her fingers.
“Girl! That lady is so annoying, very irritating. She literally wants me out of the office for a reason I can't even explain. She monitors every of my movement and complains at all my work,” Marbel cried out, hissing loudly.
Marie was about to say something when a message notification popped on her phone, “hold on baby, I will call you back,” she quickly told Marbel and ended the call before she could reply.
Marie quickly opened the message, she froze at the content. Marie wiped her eyes clearly and read the message again.
“Hell no!” She screamed.
“Back to take what is mine! Meet me by 7pm tomorrow, I will send location. Best regards, Morris Dad!” The message read.
“What the f**k! Who the hell is pulling this prank!” She growled, standing up from her bed. She paced around her room. “What's going on,” she murmured to herself.
Marie quickly forwarded the message to Marbel, and within seconds, Marbel's call came in.
“What was that you just sent!” Marbel inquired in a confused tone.
“Girl! I'm confused as you are right now,” she replied immediately. “I think your boss is about to set me up with someone,” she muttered, tapping her legs on the floor.
“You think she might be behind this?” Marbel asked, her voice low yet audible.
“I know she is, she probably wants Vincent's to stay off, or maybe she just wants cause chaos in my damn peaceful life!” Marie said bitterly, furrowing her eyebrows together.
“Talk to you tomorrow,” Marie said and ended the call before Marbel could reply. She placed her phone on her lips bitting the backpack of her phone. A sudden smirk flickered across her face, but soon disappeared.
“Let's see how it goes tomorrow, then I will know what to do. I'm not proving a s**t to anyone and no one has access to my child not even his real father.” She muttered to herself and scoffed angrily.

The next morning, Marie woke up side by side to Morris, who clinged to her like she was running away. She stared at her baby for a while and smiled. She quickly went to get ready for work.
After she was done preparing, she bathed Morris and took him to her mother, as she left for work. She quickly left to avoid Vincent from catching up with her, but before she stepped out of the huge gate, Mr Alessio's voice came from behind, “Is Vincent not giving you a ride to work?” Marie paused her steps, she growled silently.
“f**k,” she caused under her breath. Marie turned slowly, faking a smile. “Hello Sir,” she greeted him, Mr Alessio smiled and waved at her.
“Vincent is already done preparing for work, you should go with him,” Mr Alessio repeatedly said with a smile.
“Okay Sir, but I don't want to bother him. I can always get a cab or book a ride,” Marie insisted, ready to turn and leave. But Vincent wasn't left out.
“And who said you are bothering me, always running like someone is pursuing you,” Vincent's voice came from behind his father, his father only laughed at his statement. Marie was speechless at that point, she couldn't refuse in front of his father.
“Enter the car, let's go,” Vincent said heading towards the car.
