“Can you not be dramatic!” Vincent exhaled as he watched Verena walk out of his office. But on getting to the door knob, she paused and turned, “Dramatic! She has drawn the lines and as for you! Just know that if I can't have you then you can't have someone else!” She walked out and bagged the door loudly, drawing the attention of Vincent's staff. She didn't blink an eye. She just went straight to her car and drove off. Vincent scratched the back of his head in confusion. He knows how insecure and dangerous Verena can be, both with words and her actions. He wouldn't dare call Marie at the moment. He just say there staring at the walls of his office like he's seeing them for the first time. _ _ _ Marie was already breathing heavily as she reached her office. No one cared to ask her what happened, but they were all staring at her like she ate some s**t. She ignored their looks and slumped in her chair. She raised her head looking at the ceiling of her office. “What have I done!” She murmured, looking down on her trembling hands. “Should I had watched her say those things to me, no!” She scoffed. “f**k! What if this brings problem?” She muttered hitting her hands on her table. She looked around to be sure she hadn't drawn attention. “She really got what she deserved! She had been tormenting me since I came back. I didn't even do anything to her, and my baby is innocent of her jealousy stacked behavior!” She lashed out and nodded in satisfaction. She picked out her phone and dialed Marbel's line. After a long while of ringing, she picked up. “Girl! You calling me by this time, thought you should be at work,” Marbel said from her end quietly. “I'm at work already, just needed to talk to someone. I had a clash with your boss today and…..” she paused, clearing her throat. Her fingers tapping slowly one her laps. “And?” Marbel inquired eagerly. “By the way, is she back to the company?” She asked immediately without completing her statement. Marbel growled on the phone. “Girl! You like keeping me in suspense, is this the end of ur first statement? Anyways, she is not back…..” she paused in her words and Marie couldn't hear her voice again. “Hey? Marbel?” She called out but there was no response but she could hear talks from the background of the call. “I will call you back,”Marbel said sharply after a while and then ended the call. Marie held the phone in confusion, a lot of thought ran through her mind. “Did she badged in on her or was her phone seized because of the call?” Either way, she doesn't want to cause Marbel any problems even though she didn't like the face that she was working there. Marie thought, biting her lower finger. She checked the time, it was almost time to go home. She couldn't wait any longer. She packed up her small bag and picked up some files, stepped out of her office and left. Handing the secretary some finished files before leaving. The secretary watched her in anger and jealousy. The confidence and audacity she carries marveled her. She obviously know she was a special person to their boss but there was no proof to it. A thought crossed her mind, she nodded and smiled dangerously. “Call me ur assistant, tell her I will be waiting in the car!” Vincent said bringing her back from her envious thought. “Sorry Sir, she just left,” she replied sharply with a smile but Vincent didn't even look her way. He just stepped outside looking around like Marie would still be somewhere close waiting for him. But there were no traces of her. He hissed under his breath and drove off. The secretary watched his car till it was out of sight. “I'm so going to frustrate that little b***h!” She muttered angrily. “She thinks she can come into this place and dominate the whole place?” She continued, looking at the files Marie handed over to her disgustingly. “The worst is that, she even perfect with her work!” She mumbled, pressing her forehead softly. “Let's see how it goes!” Vincent had reached the estate just immediately Marie highlighted from a taxi. She noticed his car entering the estate but she ignored him. She walked into their mansion, as Morris jumped down from her grandma’s laps into her arms. She held him tightly like he was going to disappear. “How are you my baby? Mummy has missed you so much!” She chuckled, tearing up. Her confidence and audacity ended as she hugged her son. He was her only comfort to all the Trauma going on. At that moment all she wanted was just someone to hold her tight and assure her that everything was alright. “Mummy!” Morris called our and she looked up to him. “Are you okay?” He asked, wiping off the tears forming in her eyes. “Mummy! You are crying,” he cried out. “No baby, mummy just missed you okay,” she muttered quietly as she allowed him wipe off her little tears. “How are you, mum?” She greeted with a smile, turning towards her mother who had been sitted there watching their dramatic expression. Her mother smiled and nodded, “ did you have a hard time at work today? You look so down and stressed out,” she questioned, worries written all over her face. Marie smiled, looking towards Vincent's direction, who had been standing there for a while without anyone noticing, she smirks and turned back to her mom. “ I guess it's just first time syndrome, I'm too strong for every s**t that's happening” she said loudly to the hearing of Vincent. “Though there were some shitty crises! but….” she paused, bringing Morris down to his feet. Her mom furrowed and eyebrow, waiting to get the full details. “Mom! I got this s**t put together!” She concluded and walked inside.
